Just got back from a two night stay in this hotel and I loved every moment of it! Even though we stayed in a 'standard double' room it felt like a lot more. The room itself was clean, spacious and the same could be said for the en-suite. The staff were very friendly and very helpful right from my arrival.... More

We stayed at the Connaught for 3 nights..chosen at random online . We arrived early but no problem, our room was ready for us. Room32, 2nd floor. The room was good size, spotlessly clean well furnished. Within 30mins of arrival we took a call from reception, a simple enquiry to check that we had all the facilities we required..A nice touch, which... More

Best feature was the spa. We met people there who were staying at the hotel just for the spa. Breakfast was included and gave an extensive choice. Unfortunately, the room was small and pokey. Could be improved by paler colours and better light fittings. Overall a good price given the use of the spa and the inclusive breakfast. Down the... More

Thank you for the review OBW and very pleased we were that you enjoyed the hotel's facilities, especially the spa area. I was sorry however to read that you were disappointed with the size of your room - we are always happy to move a guest subject of course to availability. Hotel is a 5 - 10 minute stroll to the high street yet it is located at a relatively quiet area. We booked two rooms of similar type on its website (superior double) and yet both are different. One is on the highest level with an accessible balcony, a bath and smallish room. The other was a large room, almost... More

Dear Areisende Many thanks for your review which is very much appreciated. The hotel, originally a gentleman's residence, dates back to 1851 but I hope you will agree that the refurbishment works bring the hotel well into the 21st Century. Guests should be aware that our superior rooms are of two types - smaller with balconies or larger without, with... More

We booked this hotel on the basis that the price and location were what we wanted. We stayed in a Superior double room on the top floor which also had a balcony (room 53). When we arrived we were very impressed as the hotel looked clean, modern and well equipped. However, that was just the reception area. The rest of... More

Many thanks for your review Greenie and I'm very sorry that we didn't tick all the boxes for you. Apologies also for the disturbance caused by the inconsiderate guests in your adjacent room Just a point regarding the "rest of the hotel is old and dated" - you are clearly referring here to the corridors and stairs in the hotel... Dear Jason and Louise, Thank you so much for that wonderful 10/10 review - really pleased you found the reception "stunning" and hopefully when we finish the lounge area you'll think the same way. That just leaves the halls, stairs and landings for completion after the Summer - far too busy now!! Glad you loved the spa and Nicki was... More

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I found the staff so friendly and helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. I found the room clean and very homely. The food was good and all the staff was very competent and nothing was too much trouble. Our last stay the only criticism was the bed was a little small,... More

From the moment we walked in and were greeted by a friendly helpful receptionist we knew the stay would be good. The refurbishment of the public areas was nearing completion and is very modern and comfortable. We were in an upgraded room which was a good size and well, though more traditionally, furnished. The restaurant was a very high standard;... More

Stayed for 3 nights in this lovely hotel. I said we had a bad start and that was the first room we were given. Clean and tidy, but with a bathroom no bigger than a wardrobe. Not quite like the pictures I thought, but with my relatively mild claustrophobia I would not be able to use the bathroom, with the... More

Excellent location for exploring Bournemouth by foot or road links. Took some finding but had sat nav so was ok navigating through one way system & side street. Lovely layout & decor in the hotel.
