This place in need of a refurbishment....but suited our needs for a two night stay in Torquay. Hotel set on the hillside outside of town in own grounds...bedroom up in the eaves a long walk from reception. Faded elegance best describes this hotel. Must have been fabulous in its heyday.

Three failed attempts to provide the accommodation reserved and confirmed resulted in our party being split up when half of the group abandoned the hotel. Each room offered turned out to be already occupied. Insult was added to injury when the hotel attempted to charge more than the agreed charge. No duty management was present which the receptionist even claiming... More

We arrived and was shown to our room straight away. On the Wednesday we decided as it was raining that a bus trip was the answer as the weather wasn't that good. Later that day my husband was taken seriously ill. The hotel staff made sure that I was okay at all times, they enqired after my hubby each time... More

Me and my partner stayed at the Bishops court hotel for one night in August 2010. Considering that this was the cheapest hotel in Torquay, I would say that we definitely got our money worth’s. We used the pool, sauna and Jacuzzi facilities, which were all included in the price, which I thought was very good as I thought it... More

I booked this with my partner, grandparents and 94 year old Great Grandma. On first glance online, it looks pleasant and was being offered at a reasonable price considering it was the start of the summer holidays. My granda booked directly and received a brochure from the hotel which presented Bishops Court as a stunning Italian Villa - how wrong... More

Noisy, dirty and unsafe. Initial impressions were that the hotel was a little tired and in need of updating but this soon degenereated when the noise from other rooms and outside precluded any sleep until 3 am only to be woken up at 5am by a conversation that couldnt have been any louder if it was by the bed. Piles... More
