This hostel was fairly cheap, but I just can't stand dirty linen. I was up all night scratching in sheets that smelt of what can only be described as the sweat of a thousand drunk men. This place is in a good location, and it should have been really good, but I just wish I spent a couple more pounds... More

What a bizarre review. Firstly let me clarify that ALL bed sheets, duvet covers and pillow cases are washed after every guest checks out. As we are at the beginning of our season we have replaced all last years bedding so the bed linen in question has only been used a handful of times. Also may I add that our... More

Perfect location, anything you need (pubs, clubs, beach :)) is only 10min walking distance from the hostel. Very clean and comfortable. Great atmosphere! You can be sure that you will feel welcome even if you travel alone. Well equipped kitchen. Good facilities: pool table, TV lounge, free WiFi. If you are in Torquay, don't stay anywhere else! :)

I stayed for several weeks in February in 2013 and couldn't have asked for more. The cost is very cheap compared to other places in Torquay and has a very social atmosphere. Comes complete with a kitchen, the beds are comfortable and the building is ideally located to see most of the city. Sean, the owner, is a gem and... More

My female hockey team and I all stayed here for one night in mid february. We booked through hostel world.com but due to snow we had to cancel our original planned stay and the hostel were very helpful and we rebooked. On arrival check in was simple and fast. We then went to our rooms, which we were all happy... More

I spent 3 months at Torquay International Backpackers.. It was one of the best experiences I have ever had and I met so many great people during my time there! Sean the owner was an absolute legend! My room was very cosy and the common areas were spotlessly clean and tidy. The atmosphere in the hostel was great with all... More

Whilst travelling the UK, Torquay Backpackers was by far my favourite hostel. I met so many great people there and the staff were all so friendly and helpful and seemed to be happy to help or answer questions at any time. The atmosphere at the hostel was great and I had so much fun there. The rooms were big and... More

I loved the hostel: I was travelling on my own around England and I met a lot of people there, very friendly atmosphere. The rooms and toilets were clean, and I only had to share the room with another 3 people, not like as in other hostels where you are sharing with lots of random people, so I felt very... More

Nice small hostel which could be very nice and friendly but instead its smallness makes its social atmosphere a little cliquey and exclusive.

10 of us stayed here in april 2011 for a friends 21st. 2 nighs. Excellent for the price. Friendly staff. Great facilities. Room clean and tidy - shower in the room not the best but a communal one was ok. Close to the shops about 20 min walk to the main bars/clubs. Beds suprisingly comfy. I would stay again.
