We stayed at the Imperial for a friends wedding and a short break. We had a sea view family premium room which was great in it's size and layout, plenty of room for the 3 of us, plus a balcony over looking the sea which was beautiful. The only down side to the room was that it was a little... More

Room was small but adequate for sleeping in but the shower was probably the worst I've ever experienced - just a trickle! All the staff we met were friendly and helpful. Dinner was delicious and service was very good - with amazing views of the sunset. Breakfast, however, was chaotic with only one or two staff seeming to know what... More

The hotel is located on a cliff, overlooking the lovely blue sea. it is near the marina but frankly, there is no reason to leave the hotel. It is very spacious and the views are out of this world. There are numerous indoor/outdoor places to lounge and enjoy the view with a glass or wine or coffee/tea. We took a... More

It's very rare that I don't want to leave a hotel, but this one is fantastic. We have been here twice before when it was a Barceló and always make sure we have a deluxe room on the third floor as it is well worth the extra to get that amazing view of the bay from your private balcony. Since... More

Although the hotel is old, the staff are extremely friendly and the food was first class. We had a room with a stunning sea view with a good sized balcony. Every effort is made to ensure cleanliness and the staff were constantly cleaning corridors, windows and so on.

Quite expensive and you don't get what you pay for. We payed for a sea view room, the view was beautiful but the room was in need of updating. The entrance to the hotel is beautiful on arrival and some parts of the hotel have been updated but lots of areas in urgent need of refurbishment. The pool area was... More

Have stayed here previously on a couple of occasions. Booked for a night here and paid extra for a sea view . Room given was G 14 which is urgent need of a refurb as looked tired and dated . Very disappointed as the room was not cheap .Had meal in the bar which was lovely and breakfast was superb... More

Hotel is absolutely beautiful. Booked room with a sea view and although more than would normally pay, it is so true....you get what you pay for! plus it was my husband's birthday and yeah these men need to be looked after sometimes :-) Staff extremely friendly and helpful with a good sense of humour. On reaching our room (128) was... More

We had an extremely disappointing stay at this hotel. The saving grace was the large spacious suites with spectacular views - I cannot imagine there are any better across the whole Riviera. However, we were prohibited access to our balcony as apparently it wasn't safe enough! What a waste. The whole hotel was incredibly faded and the interior was rough... More

I normally stay in Plymouth when in the South West on business, however on this occasion after finding all decent hotels there full, my colleagues and I decided to try Torquay for a change. Don't be put off by the exterior of the hotel, it is a little seventies, the interior is beautifully presented. The dining room overlooks the bay... More
