We had seen Rachel on The Hotel Inspector, so when we chose Torquay for a weekend break at the end of October we did not even think twice: we had to stay at Number Nine. What a fantastic job Rachel has done. What a lovely place to stay. We asked for a room on the top floor, so we got... More

Sited off the main road but close to the town centre with plenty of local parking available, Number Nine is an attractive building, tastefully decorated inside and out and well furnished with many original Victorian features, topped off by it’s grandiose hallway and open stairway. Rachel, the owner, was the perfect host and we were immediately made to feel welcome... More

A great B&B in the 50's style giving the wow factor when you enter the building. Tastefully decorated and furnished. Very homely courtesy of hostess Rachael. Cake and tea on arrival. Breakfast excellent. Nicely located in quiet street just minutes walk from the centre of town. More

The tea and cake on arrival was delicious and the home made shortbread in the room was a lovely touch. 3 of us stayed and it was a great excuse for us all to get our 50's frocks out. We travel... ...not just good, excellent! From a very warm welcome to a friendly wave goodbye from the door, Rachel was the perfect host. We initally saw Number Nine featured on the Hotel Inspector and had been looking forward to giving it a try. We weren't disappointed. We were welcomed with tea and a slice of homemade cake, followed by a brief... More

Having seen Rachel on the hotel inspector we decided to give it a try. This is a very friendly place with a lovely atmosphere, Rachel makes you very welcome and was delighted to welcome our 2 young children( unusual for a guesthouse). The theme is The 1940's and 50's and there are many period features ,prints etc. The rooms are... More
