4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 May 2013 NEW

I stayed here for two nights over a weekend along with a number of old friends meeting up for a reunion. We stayed at the Grosvenor for the first time in 2010 and was impressed enough to come back three years later. The location is just great - everything easily walkable and the Hoe just 100 yards away. I had... More

Located quite good, next to the Hoe Park and the Sea. 10 minutes walk to the center and also to Barbican, and old quarter where you'll find a lot of good restaurants. Rooms a bit to less sound-proofed. Breakfast sufficient, people at reception desk very helpful.

Stayed at the Grosvenor for two nights over a weekend, and found it very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and nothing too much trouble. The breakfast was excellent with a good choice. We stayed in a superior room no. 19 which was clean, and nicely decorated and very clean. The only downfall was that you could hear people walking... More

We stayes here for 1 night as part of our tour of the coast. The reception and breakfast staff were very friendly and helpfull, we were even provided with an area map and tips without having to ask! Its also very refreshing to find a hotel encouraging guests to bring take away food back - even providing cutlery if required!... More

Slept like a log in a very comfortable bed, then came down to a lovely breakfast, freshly cooked to order. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful, giving useful advice on how to get the best from a very short stay in Plymouth. Splendid location next to the Hoe. The hotel is slightly old fashioned, but in a pleasant... More

Aside from not being able to get into the bathroom in our booked room, they changed our room straight away and the rest of our stay was perfect. Although our superior room was still a little small, it had everything we needed. All of the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Everywhere was recently redecorated and spotlessly clean. The breakfast... More

The only Critism of the hotel is the number of stairs, no lift. We were in room 15 and it was 5 lots of stairs. The location is excellent being right on the Hoe. Parking is limited and needs to be paid for. The stay were pleasant and helpful. Room very clean. Nice breakfast.

4 of us spent the weekend of the 12th & 13th April at this ideally located hotel. Only a short walk to the Hoe, the town centre and the Barbican. Each room was very modern, the decor was superb and the staff all very friendly. The breakfast was buffet style plus full English. I have recommended this hotel already to... More

A quick peek at the reply to the "Brand New for 1952" review in the Poor section might help here - this is a family-run, small hotel which has undergone extensive refurbishment. If you don't expect 4-star facilities, like a gym, lifts and a restaurant for dinner, then this is a high-quality, comfortable hotel in an excellent location about 100... More

The Grosvenor is located in the West Hoe, convenient for the Barbican and the city centre. The room is comfortable and everything works well, including the wifi. Perhaps if I had stayed only a couple of nights, I might have rated slightly better. I had two main issues: 1. Breakfast: everyday is exactly the same and you cannot escape from... More
