Splendid 19th century railway hotel retaining many original features and for the most part brought reasonably up to date, though elements of faded grandeur throughout. We booked a room-only deal for two nights at a reasonable rate. We were provided with a large, comfortable en-suite room on the top floor. No complaints and would use again. No "wow" factor however.

I have spent an evening at a reception here and then the night. To rate this hotel(I use the term very loosely ) Abysmal is a more Appropriate word. Absolutely loved the stay. Meal was outstanding! Service was perfect with lovely staff. Building is a beautiful example of its Original state. Stunning. Considering this was only a work visit i Can't wait to stay again.

A beautiful building, maintaining a lot of its original features. The staff were very helpful, both reception and the breakfast waitress. It was a shame that the room had a strange smell and was in need of dusting (I was able to write in the dust).

What a beautiful building, the architecture and detail is outstanding. The interior however, although regal, is dated somewhat with shabby decor and dated colours. The rooms are not large but adequate. the beds are very comfortable and the service is great, very friendly and efficient.
