Agree with many others, the grandeur of the place and its history is fabulous. We had a lovely stay, The reception staff were very helpful,(especially the charming polish lady on check in)We had a lovely room, spacious clean, bathroom, lovely Would definitely stay again.Next stay will try restaurant.

Splendid 19th century railway hotel retaining many original features and for the most part brought reasonably up to date, though elements of faded grandeur throughout. We booked a room-only deal for two nights at a reasonable rate. We were provided with a large, comfortable en-suite room on the top floor. No complaints and would use again. No "wow" factor however.

I have spent an evening at a reception here and then the night. To rate this hotel(I use the term very loosely ) Abysmal is a more Appropriate word. The hotel is dated ,not clean and the staff were Ignorant ,rude In particular the people in charge of the I have never Heard a restaurant manager speak to his staff... More

A beautiful building, maintaining a lot of its original features. The staff were very helpful, both reception and the breakfast waitress. It was a shame that the room had a strange smell and was in need of dusting (I was able to write in the dust).

What a beautiful building, the architecture and detail is outstanding. The interior however, although regal, is dated somewhat with shabby decor and dated colours. The rooms are not large but adequate. the beds are very comfortable and the service is great, very friendly and efficient.

I stayed here for one night on business. I feel almost guilty giving it a poor review as the staff are friendly and helpful but they're working within a crumbling empire which needs sorting. I'm sure years ago this was a very grand place. It is a now a shabby shadow of that. I booked a standard room and I've... More

We stayed here because the building is so beautiful. Our room on the 5th floor was large and quite comfortable if a little damp. The room was clean but shabby. The common areas are clean but grubby. There is a general aura of shabby chic. Service was functional and fairly efficient. We would stay there again but friends who visited... More

I stayed for two nights as I thought the hotel looked nice, well the bathroom was clean could have done with a shelf tho, the beds were a huge disappointment a horrible fleece type blanket that I would not allow my dogs to use full of holes and burns, the bottom sheet did not fit the mattress either and was... Stayed here for two nights, no welcome pack in the room on arrival so no idea what the hotel had to offer or how to contact reception. The bottom sheets on the bed were not big enough to cover. The blankets had holes in and toothpaste stains. No shelf in the bathroom to put toiletries on. Once we had voiced... More
