Have just come back after a stay at Millstones, what can I say, the room was clean, but small and dated, rooms are advertised with a 4 poster bed, which is true, but no need, as this took up too much space! No wardrobe, just a strange looking, tiled room with a rail and chest of drawers. This as with... More

Stayed at the Millstones Country Hotel as working late and unable to get home due to poor weather conditions. Was made to feel extremely welcome from the minute I stepped through the door, although checking in rather late. I was shown to my room, (which was quiet, cosy and a 4-poster bed) the facilities and procedures were shown to me... More

We stayed at this hotel in September 2011 as part of a family celebration. The rooms we booked were spacious and clean, and the staff very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our celebration lunch on the Sunday in the private dining room, and had a fantastic time. Our two young grandchildren were most welcome, and they thoroughly enjoyed running around... More

I was a bit apprehensive after reading some of the other reviews. And frankly I find English hotels rubbish compared to most western hotels. However, got a couple of nice rooms at good price - everything fine - had to ask for more soap/shampoo but one phone call and there it was. If you don't like "classic" English hotel décor... More

We visited the hotel to sample the food at the restaurant as a potential recommendation for some friends to stay locally. Initially, the pre drink service and food ordering was warm, friendly and encouraging. We were shown through to dinner and it was very apparent that the decor and presentation was very tired and dated. Before we could sit down... More

This is an intimate, traditional little hotel. We had a lovely spacious room which was clean and tidy. We ordered our breakfast and booked our time to eat in the conservatory dining room the preceding night. This meant that our food was cooked fresh for us when we sat down. The best thing was the evening meal we had with... More

Excellent communication with the hotel management from the off, facilitating a well organised event to celebrate my parents DWA ... friendly and efficient staff, well laid-out event room, excellent food, clean and comfortable bedrooms ... no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this hotel for a family stay-over. We did not stay at this hotel. Its restaurant is open to non-residents and as they were advertising a Valentines special we thought we would give it a try. The hotel itself is very old-fashioned, warm and cozy. The staff are very friendly and helpful. However, the food really was not worth the £25 we each paid for our set... More

My wife and I (and our little dog Hibee) spent 4 nights at the millstones to celebrate our anniversary. After 4 days i can think of only one negative point - the windows in our room have seen better days. I note, however, that many of the hotel windows have already been replaced. The food and personal service we received was... More
