This is a real find! When we first walked in to the reception, I wasn't sure...it seemed perhaps a little dated... BUT the rest of the hotel is really lovely and very well kept. The bedroom we were in (room 3) is beautiful... there is definitely a wow factor as you have a fantastic view out onto the sea and... More

We booked this because of the very good reviews and it was very pleasant, but just a little too dated for us. Cleanliness, welcome and breakfast were all first class though. A few more toiletries in the bathroom would be appreciated.

We booked this hotel for a few of us as my sister was getting married locally. They were very accommodating when I asked for an early check in due to the wedding happening in the village. When arrived and were assigned our room we couldn't believe our luck - the view was stunning. A very comfortable bed and reasonably sized... More

The ways in which the owners have upgraded and now run this property put it almost in the 'boutique' hotel category. It is managed with a precision which is almost clinical and is most effective. One wondered if the proprietor is an ex-military man. We dined there and the food was very good indeed, for an establishment of its size... More

Great place. Old fashioned certainly, but with charming staff and fantastic views. I booked at relatively short notice but found it a pleasant place. The proprietor was helpful in selecting local walking routes.

Forget your "boutique" hotels and head for the Chough's nest. Very comfortable accommodation and lovely home cooked cuisine made for an excellent stay. Views are superb and walk to Valley of Rocks is very close by. Parking is very adjacent to hotel - not sure why some felt this an issue. Service is friendly without being overpowering. We will definitely... More

Just stayed 2 nights, wish it had been longer. Great service from welcoming, helpful family team in this characterful victorian villa with wonderful views of Lynmouth Bay. Comfy beds, good ambience and good straightforward home cooked food. Very good value. Access straight onto the coast path going west and towards Valley of the Rocks for all levels of walkers. The... Friends of ours have stayed many times so we booked to see what all the fuss was about... a warm welcome from this family run business and a spotlessly clean en-suite, comfy bed, great view. Limited car-parking but did not seem to be a problem at all. Great food and service we will be returning 2013.

Despite being rated as a two star hotel both my wife and I were delighted to have found this five star accommodation especially as it was my birthday.
