Just returned after a short break at the lynton Cottage Hotel, this is a truly excellent hotel for food, service, accomodation & location. We have stayed at this hotel many times over the years, & have always had a fantastic time. Heather & Dave provide an excellent allround service, well stocked bar with excellent wine list. The quality & presentation of... More

We spent a lovely few days here. The rooms were spotless, the breakfast, cream teas and evening meals were amazing and we had a great sea view from our room. We felt very welcome and really enjoyed our stay. More

We spent a long weekend here in February on the special offer with a 3 course a la carte dinner. Wonderfully comfortable and warm 4 poster bed (room 1) with en suite bathroom with corner bath. Fabulous views from our room across the sea and up the valley. Excellent meals, with fine dining dinner and breakfast, everything very fresh with... More

My wife and I have stayed at The Lynton Cottage Hotel 5 times in the past 7 years and will return again because the place has some of the best views and wonderful food. The name 'Cottage' suggests old and quaint and it is. However, arrive stressed from your journey , park up and get out of your vehicle, look at... More

Spent 3 nights at this lovely old hotel. The location and views are spectacular. Our room (5) had a panoramic view over Lynmouth bay with floor to ceiling windows so you could just sit and gaze at the view. The room was nicely decorated with everything you'd expect and a corner bath that we didn't! The room was warm and... More

Sadly this ideally situated hotel did not live up to the image given by the web site. It was tired and faded, and far from warm and friendly. When we arrived we were not made to feel welcome ( the word was never uttered). We were not properly shown our room, or around the hotel. The bar was cold and... More

Made very welcome by charming hosts. Had upgrade to a superior room which had a fantastic view of the sea and surroundings. Food was excellent and very reasonable price wise. Assuming it doesn't change hands would love to return. More

The hotel has wonderful views from the grounds and from the room that we occupied. We found it very cold in our rooms as the weather was wet and windy with little or no sun and when we returned after our day out we would have liked heating to have been on. The heating eventually came on at about 6-00pm... More

As regular travellers all around the world this hotel still remains one of our favourite hotels for a short break. This was our fourth visit within the last ten years and the hotel still attracts us with its irresistable country residence charm. The views remain breathtaking from all angles of the hotel grounds and particularly from the bedrooms. This time... More
