A very comfortable guest house within easy walking distance of the City centre. Well furnished rooms with a touch of oriental decoration in the staways and halls. Excellent Breakfasts which were even served an hour early due to my special request I only met one staff member in my week there and he was the breakfast chef and receptionist and... More

Stayed here for one night to go to the football in the afternoon and the city centre for the evening. Checked in at 2:00 and was greeted by a really friendly, chatty man who went through all the necessary info, most of which I was aware of because I'd read the previous reviews on here. I had the single room... More

This lovely little place was a real find. Calling Melbury a guest house is like calling Jimmy Choo a cobbler. Granted it may be guest house sized and my room was indeed quite small despite having a four poster bed, but it is so gloriously sumptuous in terms of decor and ambience and this belies its guest house status. The... More

Advertised as being 'Luxurious'. A bit of an exaggeration. Pleasant enough and the staff were friendly, but it all seemed rather amateurish. The bedlinen was fine and, yes you could say luxurious, but the whole place could have done with a paint job. It was all rather dark with heavy paintings and large Indian statues on the landings. No double... More

'Stayed in Garden Lodge for one night. Worth paying extra to get hot tub and privacy. Would have been nice to have toiletries available for the shower. Made very well come by staff. Good breakfast. Would stay here again when in the area again. '

My partner and I recently stayed for one night in the garden lodge. The lodge was well equipped and maintained. It was very good value for money, especially having our own private pirate bar and hot tub. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The breakfasts were also very good. I can't really fault anything and would highly recommend this... More

When I say simple, this is no reflection on the quality of the guest house, it is a compliment to the fact that it is not complicated, because far too many make it a complicated business to run an efficient Guest House. I stayed in room 3 on the first floor with an en-suite shower & sink, with the toilet... More
