One night stay during week after Easter. Just the most stunning location immediately on the quay side. After the village visitors disappear for the evening the whole place feels as if it belongs to the hotel guests. The hotel is clean and comfortable. Breakfast superb and the restaurant position overlooking the water cannot be bettered.

Came here for the weekend and couldn't have chosen anything better. As others have said, the stunning views from all rooms are unsurpassable, especially the sunrise and set over the bay. We went into the red lion for a cup of tea and some chips and everything was filthy. Stainless steel tea pot and milk jug were both disgusting. The stainless steel receptacle the chips came in was also filthy, so we tipped them out onto napkins. We also waited 20 minutes for the chips as the kitchen didnt know how... More

A wonderful nights stay in the Clovelly the Red Lion Hotel is outstanding,a beautiful view across the bay from a stunning room that was clean and very comfortable the food was very good and the evening spent in the bar in front of the lovely fire was superb, The staff were very friendly and helpful and our stay was delightful.

Come here spasmodically, sometimes by car, and sometimes arrive by sea. Nice bar, but it is worth checking opening times before you arrive, as we have missed out on food a couple of times because, surprisingly, the kitchen is not open all day. Friendly bar and service, and good food when we timed ourselves right.

Clovelly is a fabulous place which seems to have stepped out from a bygone era when 'community' flourished, people cared and time passed at half today's speed.
