This is one of my favorite places to camp, always clean, friendly staff, and I always look forward to my next visit. I stay at least 6 or 7 times a year. I prefer the personable treatment we have received over the convenience of staying in townsite campground where you are just a number. On our second time staying there... More

We like camping in the Waterton Park area in the summer. Usually we try to stay at Crandell Mountain Campground in the park. However, it is difficult to get a site in the busy high season. This summer, we tried this location. It turned out to be a very good alternative to camping in the park. This is a large... More

Grounds are a bit unkempt. We booked 3 weeks in advance and ended up double booked on a site. When we arrived, there was a family already set up on our site, so they had to find somewhere else to put us. The sites they found were nice enough. Well treed and reasonably private. (We were in tents). Sites were... More

Recently I had the pleasure of camping at Waterton Springs Campground for several nights. The tenting sites are well-treed & organized in such a manner that there is shelter from the ongoing winds, as well as privacy from neighbours. Because the tent sites are separate from the RV sites, campers don't have the noise of generators, which is a relaxing... More

On arrival at Waterton Springs, we were shocked that it looked so unkempt; weeds growing everywhere and dirt blowing from the interior roads. We ended up in a long tent site with no hookups in our 5th wheel, which was the best looking spot in the park. Trailer Life says that this park has a dump station, but it was... More

Thank you for your review! Waterton Springs Campground is indeed owned by the Nature Conservancy of Canada. The property is essentially a nature reserve, so mowing anything other than campsites is discouraged from the Nature Conservancy. What a great place to enjoy the true natural beauty of this area! New development of any kind is also prohibited. Unfortunately, our dump... More

We have been going to Waterton Springs for the past three years and have loved it. It is a very quiet campground bordering Waterton National Park which in my experience i have never heard any party or music after 10 pm. It is well away from the highway so you do not have vehicles driving by all day and night.... More

I booked a camp spot for the long weekend a week in advance they asked for a three day booking to hold the spot for the entire weekend and I paid in advance. They guaranteed me a treed spot and gave me a site number which I knew from camping there before. I called while driving down (3.5 hrs from... More

Thank you for your review. It is campground policy that if any camper calls in advance and requests a specific site(s) to reserve, then they are guaranteed the site they asked for (granted that it is open when they called to make the reservation). We always hold sites for those who have made reservations. We also recommend that reservations are... More

Waterton Springs campground is on the park boundary with Waterton Lakes National Park and borders a piece of Nature Conservancy protected prairie. A trip to this campground is all about location and views. Because it is on prairie there are unobstructed views of the mountains and sunsets over them are a highlight. Because the campground is on flat prairie there... More

We were two couples with two campers less then 19 feet. We requested a site that was not full service due to cost and were told they only had full-hook-up sites available. It was quite evident that the same non full service sites that were open upon our arrival remained open overnight. There was a boil order on all water... More

It may be worth noting that it is the campground policy to hold "reserved" sites until 11am the next morning for campers who are smart enough to reserve a site on a busy weekend. So while empty sites may have been seen, in reality they are sites that have been reserved and paid for by other campers. We have a... More
