We just stayed here with out boys hockey team. The staff was wonderful, very accommodating, and understanding. We had heard some not so good things about the hotel, but it was cheap and only a block from the arena so we went with it. They have been doing renovations. The rooms are huge, newly painted, newly carpeted, many have a... More

A quick motorcycle trip up the island, and this place looked the most inviting of the few motels we saw before arriving here. We asked to check out a couple of rooms before committing and we were given a choice of a couple. We chose the brightest, and check in was quick and efficient, and we were guided to covered... More

Have traveled to the North Vancouver Island area for 35 Years. The North Shore Inn was once one of the premiere facilities to stay, which I have from time to time. With the economic down turn when the BHP mine closed, all the local hotels felt the sting and some fell into a state of dis-repair and a few have... More

We booked this hotel, thinking a basic hotel would suffice as we would only be spending a small amount of time there after arriving late on the ferry from Prince Rupert. The room was less than basic and gave the feel that it wasn't even clean. There were cigarette burn holes in the bed linen and holes in the towels.... More

like I said, the views from the rooms are absolutely gorgeous. Other than that, I really can't say anything too nice about this place - beds were ROCK hard. Contemplated sleeping on the floor and probably would have if it wasn't so gross. -walls were paper thin! Partiers next door kept us awake -no black out curtains?! There's a light... More

Paid way too much for a stinky, dirty room and didn't get any sleep anyway because the other rooms were occupied by drunks yelling. I'll sleep in my car rather than stay here again.

like many other port hardy travelers we have also used this hotel to take a nap prior to waking up at 5 am to be on time for the Prince Rupert ferry. North Shore Inn wasn't a rip off and the room looked oook, so we chose it. just as we checked in I was about to wash my hands,... More

The lodging pickens are slim in this small town, but this place is pretty much everything you could expect in a spot like this. The rooms are HUGE and seem redecorated nicely (not white). Clean baths with good quality showers and faucets. PLUS giant enclosed (quite helpful) decks, each with an unbeatable view when taken the whole island into account.... More

Basic motel. No meals available. All rooms upstairs. Nearby Sportsmans Bar provides good meals. Due to Greyhound coach from Vancouver and BC ferry timetables it is necessary to stay overnight in Port Hardy. Local bus service collects bus passengers and takes to motels and collects again in the morning for the trip around inlet to where BC Ferry to Prince... More
