After finding digs in most of Nova scotia for about $99 to $110, I was more than taken aback to find the least expensive room here was $139. That was up two flights of steep narrow stairs, and quite small. But the very British hosts were charming and effusive- full of good ideas and pleasant banter. Breakfast was convivial and... More

Thank you for staying at Kaulbach House and for your positive comments. I'm sorry you felt that your room rate did not offer good value for money. Apart from the Bluenose Suite (not the room in question), which occupies the whole of the attic floor, all of our rooms are on the second floor, so just one flight up the... More

The common areas at the inn are lovely. It's a beautiful property. The Land & Sea room was charming, but not very spacious. Inside, there is a small room with a toilet and stand-up shower, and the sink is located just outside of this, in the main room with the two single beds. It's a tight space, and you have... More

We stayed two nights at Kaulback House in the Bluenose Suite. Beautifully appointed room on the top floor with view of the harbor. Private outdoor entrance made for easy access. Great breakfast served at our table in a delightfully furnished dining room. The owners were so interested in our stay and made several great suggestions for restaurants and sight seeing.... More

We stayed in this charming and wonderful B&B this past August. David and Jenny were very welcoming, helpful, and gracious hosts. The breakfast was generous and delicious. We found David to be most courteous with the transporting of our luggage, as well as helpful with local information.

We felt lucky to have found Kaulbach House and even luckier to have spent time in Lunenburg. The house is perfectly situated and there's lots to see within walking distance. Our room was very clean, quiet and nicely decorated. And breakfast was wonderful! (The best coffee on our entire trip.) We only wish we had stayed another night.

We (2 adults, 2 kids) stayed here for three nights in the well-equipped appartment on the top floor (king size bed, sofa-cum-bed, bathroom, TV, table/chairs, no wardrobe) with a nice view to the sea. The owner (very friendly and helpful) was a bit overcautious regarding the noise kids potentially can cause (especially after a long trip from Europe by plane... More

My husband and I had a lovely two-night stay at the Kaulbach House. The centrally-located house is beautifully restored with elegant period decor throughout the parlour and dining room. We stayed in the Ruby Room and it was a wonderful mix of heritage touches and modern amenities. Most importantly, it was very clean and quiet and the bed was very... More

We spent 3 nights in this B&B. The room was clean, spacious & comfortable, the breakfast varied, hearty and healthy and the conversation entertaining and informative. The location was ideal with a great view and parking included ( a bonus in this small town). Many little touches were added (bathroom robes, additional tea/coffee, etc.) to make this feel like a... What a wonderful stay we had in Lunenburg during Tall Ships! It is such a beautiful, interesting town, and staying at Kaulbach House was so much a part of our visit, and subsequent overall impression of Lunenburg. No detail was overlooked at this establishment - pristine bathroom, charming bedroom and breakfast room. Speaking of breakfast! Jenny is a talented woman... More

Our family recommends this cozy B&B for anyone looking to stay in the heart of Lunenburg. The owners, David and Jenny, are extremely friendly and helpful. They helped us make the most out of our stay in Nova Scotia. The rooms are comfortable and provide a great view of the water. The breakfast was quite nice as well.
