Very busy pub over the Bank Holiday,everybody working very hard and keeping all their customers happy including us. We have stopped here a few times for a drink by the beck on Saturday we called for a pint and a wine and a sandwich they stop serving at 2pm but it was later than that after been turned away from two pubs earlier the Fairfax said no problem they could do us a sandwich and very nice it... More

We returned to the Fairfax for our 4th (I think!) time recently and once again everything was as we remember. Lovely, friendly but unobtusive service, outstanding food, cosy room and great atmosphere in a beautiful location. Without question this is our favourite occasional retreat and we look forward to returning in the future.

Just returned from another two night stay. Perfection This time we stopped in Fairfax View - a small but well appointed self contained apartment. The whole experience was wonderful. The food both at dinner and breakfast was very well presented, exceedingly well cooked and full of seasonality.
