Ours was a trip advisor choice and we were absolutely delighted to find the Consulate. In every way it was an exceptional experience, received with such genuine warmth and interest. Thank you, Pascal,Philippe and Sebastian for caring so much about what you do to add to the culture, beauty and vitality to other peoples's lives. Attention to detail in all... More

Dear Mrs Wendy T. (and Prince consort) It was so cool. You are cool, our moments together were cool, our memories of you are cool. All without illicit drug use! No need to call the Police. And it is still a cool memory (even after 3 days of constant rain over the Consulat since you left). Like, hum,... British rain... More

Without doubt the finest host, offering a unique and personal touch to the perfect relaxing stay. Pascale offers a genuine warmth, charming humour and real style, to make sure his guests feel welcome and at home in his very special Consulat. A superb dinner, a very comfortable bed and a delicious breakfast only add to the positives. I am currently... More

This is definitely one of the outstanding places to go as a couple. WMy wife and myself went there on two occasions and had the Pompadour room. Rarely we have ever seen so much perfect attention put into every single detail. Where is the morning coffee brought to your door step ? Where can you ramble in a 14th century... More

We spent our last night in France here and wow, what a treat it was! From the outside, set on a hilltop, a beautiful, tasteful, small chateau but step inside and prepare to be amazed! Each room is highly individual with an eclectic array of furniture and art. The attention to detail is unbelievable. There is no point trying to... More

We chose this B&B based on their website. The pics of the rooms looked really good and the videos and feel of the website was a bit whacky! (Who wants "usual" when on holidays?) Well, the rooms were large, comfy and, design-wise, really appealing. (We got to select which we wanted). Pascal is a great cook - local, fresh, seasonal.... More

From our arrival to our departure the experience at the Consulat was truly amazing. We stayed only one night on our way to a 2 week holiday in the Dordogne, but by the time we left were wishing that our 2 weeks could have been at the Consulat. As a single father travelling with my 8 year old daughter, 6... More

Planning a meander back from Toulouse to Calais, I had spotted the Consulat on tripadvisor. It looked more expensive, but more interesting and special than other places and so it proved to be. We'd stayed in some Logis de France recommended hotels in the week before and generally found them a bit more tired/run down and moderate on food than... More

The Consulat is unique - stylish, a good location with quite exuberant hosts. If you've seen the website, you'll know what to expect. That the guest rooms are all themed is a bit of an understatement - "OTT" might be more appropriate - from an 18th C parlour to a Balinese bridal suite with a military hospital in between -... More

Phillip and Pascal offer the very best in country accommodations and personal service. They are 'yes-we-can' people and could not have been better hosts. While the Consulat is centuries old, it has been totally rebuilt with the best of appointments...yet is home like and interesting! Located in a small quiet village it is close to Le Mans and the race... More

You could spend the first few hours of your visit to the Consulat just looking at all the gorgeous objets Pascal and Philippe have on 'display'; you could have tea in the garden overlooking the valley; or maybe a glass of something cold and delicious and a dip in the pool. Whatever you choose, nothing is too much trouble for... More
