Best choice in the area. Stayed two nights (originally intended to stay only one but couldnt leave...). The location is so peaceful and tranquile. Room was very good (double bed, shower, small kitchen + utensile, TV, AC). Service was very good. Note that they provide free Wi Fi - which is rare in AU. Reception was only outside the room... More

Dear NBE_2011, Ahh, the tranquility of Greenwell Point. It is indeed a very special place. It is almost guaranteed to calm the most frazzled nerves. The walk along the foreshore is gorgeous in the early morning, and the birdlife amazing. May is a particularly beautiful month: The days are warm and sunny, the nights crisp and clear. We understand wi-fi... More

It is a bit out of the way - but this is the charm of the place. The motel is located across the road from the boardwalk in a serene environment. There are none of those quilted floral 70's motel bedspreads and carpets that seem to still pervade the South Coast. Fresh crisp white linen, comfy chairs and top class... More

Dear Wendy, Thank you for your wonderful observations about our lovely corner of the world. It is a little way off the beaten track but, as you say, well worth the effort. You make some pertinent comments about eating out in Greenwell Point. The nearby cafes do close early, but the bistro at the hotel and the restaurants at the... More

We thought Nowra sounded nice but without saying as much, the assistant in the Tourist Office gave the impression that we were wrong and we ended up at Greenwell Point, a few miles down the road, never heard of it but the village is a real gem. As soon as we got there, the owner showed us the room and... More

Dear gbf1, Thank you for your wonderful review of Anchor Bay Motel and Greenwell Point. We are so happy you enjoyed the upstairs waterfront room and its beautiful views across the bay. It is worth negotiating the 10 stairs. As you mentioned, the bird life at the Point is amazing, from magnificent pelicans to chaotic corellas, gallant gallahs to mighty... More

My husband and I were booked in for two nights with the Anchor Bay Motel this weekend and unfortunately we were the victims of an aggravated break and enter at another property down the south coast so we were unable to stay at the Anchor Bay. We had to drive straight home to Sydney to re secure our property. When... More

Dear Jennifer B, Thank you for your lovely comments. We understand that sometimes events occur and people are not able to honour their original commitment. You alerted us to the issue promptly, you were obviously genuine (and quite distressed) and in such circumstances we are only too happy to be flexible. We look forward to welcoming you to the Anchor... More

I hadn't realised when booking this motel that it was some 12 kms outside of Nowra at Greenwell Point. However, the motel was lovely. There were tea/coffee making facilities, but no actual kitchen area, which many of the motels provide. Breakfast could be ordered if required and brought to your room. The room was pleasant, as was Greenwell Point, and... More

Dear MayWest42, Thank you for your lovely observations about our motel and Greenwell Point. You make a very important point: the motel is on the water 12km east of the regional centre of Nowra, well away from the main highway. Greenwell Point is a very quiet little fishing village. It is not pretentious or sophisticated; a modest little town on... More

One of the most relaxing short breaks we have had. From our initial phone call until our departure Gary and Jeni went out of their way to be the ultimate hosts. From restaurant recommendations to information on what to, do these lovely hosts did it with a smile. It seems that running a motel is more than a job such... More

Wanted a place to stay away from the usual and we choose a great place... A very friendly welcome when we arrived was appreciated (why can't it be like this everywhere...). Dear David P, Thank you for your lovely words of encouragement. We pride ourselves on our warm welcome and genuinely want our guests to enjoy their stay with us.
