Unfortunately there's not a lot to choose from for budget accommodation on Railay, especially if you want something close to the beach (even if it's the ugly and muddy East Railay). Stayed here for 3 nights and it is actually owned by Princess Resorts now - we didn't know that until we asked around after aimlessly walking for 30 mins. The room was clean, no view, and had very dark wood. Slightly depressing, but we didn't spend much time in the room anyway. More

Wonderful rooms covered in wood! Superb massage next door. Excellent food at restaurant downstairs. And right on the beach! Go for it! More
