Our vacations usually have a reasonably packed schedule. We prefer to drive to our holiday destinations, visit nearby places, try the local food at various restaurants etc. Our stay at Balur was completely the opposite. Apart from short outings on foot into the estate and nearby hills, we stayed in the lovely estate house, are, slept, lazed, read and slept... More

We visited as a group of two families (8 people) and stayed at the Cardamom suites for 3 nights. Spacious, well-done up rooms, very well-maintained. Clean spacious bathrooms with an earthy touch. The nice things is that snacktimes and mealtimes are not forced upon you but you can pretty much order what you want when you want it and you... More

This was a highly recommended place and it lived up to it! We like quiet and tranquility, good local cuisine and a connect with nature. Linger was just that! The rooms in the main building really good and gives one the feel of the old time construction of high ceilings and good ventilation. The new Cardamom Suites are good too... More

I have been to Linger twice. If you like tvs and swimming pools and fancy food, this is not the place for you. It is perfectly rustic, with all possible comforts. The staff is nothing short of outstanding. The food cooked is fresh and simple, like home food, and the staff will make sure you overeat at every meal. The... More

We happen to come across this property after doing some search on Tripadvisor and it was one of our memorable experiences. We had great time at the property. Great homily food, courteous hosts and scenic location. After a while we had a relaxing vacation. Thank you for having us as guests and we will surely be returning back soon

Had heard a lot about Linger from friends and decided to give one of the Linger properties a try. We decided on Balur Estate because it was just a 4 hour drive from Bangalore and we had never been to Chikmagalur before. It was the best decision ever! Linger delivers exactly what they promise - A do nothing holiday in... More

When one enters the main gate and looks at the heritage cottage its just too beautiful to be said in words. Its so peaceful and serene and the warmth one gets from the people is just amazing and heart warming. I was travelling with me 4 year old and was so worried about the food they will serve when we... We loved the Estate and really appreciated the way it has been renovated and maintained. But what we really loved was the warmth and courteous attention of the staff - Amza, Rakesh, Ratnamma and everyone else who works on the estate. The way they all attended to our constant calls for coffee, showed us around the estate and the tourist... More

We wanted a do nothing break from our regular chaos, and it was indeed that we received starting with very warm welcome at the gate. Walks around the estate held us to the beauty of mother earth. Local cuisine was yummy. Evenings were lit by bonfire and garam garam snacks. we enjoyed every bit of it and thank you for... More

We zeroed upon this property for only one reason - "be amidst nature at a quiet place & not have set agenda". Linger turned out to be just that and much more.. About the property - Its more than a century old plantation bungalow set amidst a huge coffee plantation, 400-500 acres I believe. It has the old world charm... More
