Used as a 2 night stopover whilst visiting world war sites with my wife and 95 year old father. Difficult to find and you will love it or hate it. Converted mill at forge site down country lane in river valley surrounded by lovely countryside. Not far off J2 A26 between Calais and St Omer. Close to V1 V2 bunker... More

Stumbled upon this hotel when planning a night away with our two children. We wanted to visit France and often shop in St Omer when there so we needed somewhere nearby to stay. This is off the beaten track - although our SatNav had no problem guiding us there which was a bonus! We arrived and rang the bell, waited... More

I have stayed here on a few occasions and look forward to returning. It's a charming place in its way, well off the beaten track, homely and rustic. It is a converted mill set in lovely countryside next to the small river Hem. The rooms I have stayed in have been comfortable and warm in the winter. Some may find... More

This was our third visit to the Moulin and as always were not disappointed with the food, considering the price. However investment is now needed in the bedrooms. It is not acceptable to have to sleep with threadbare linen and in a bed well past its comfort date. Nevertheless the room and bathroom were kept very clean and the towels,... More

having had a nightmare of a hotel on our way through France at the beginning of our holiday, we were rather anxious about our return trip and our visit to this unknown, very inexpensive, guest house. We needn't have worried. Communication was friendly and professional, and when we arrived we found the place to be absolutely charming. The room (for... More

You get what you pay for. This is a reasonably priced country inn in typical French style. It is not a luxurious 5*, the bedrooms are quite basic but clean and are suitable for an overnight stay. Unusually for this type of property though, we were offered aperetifs in the bar before our meal and were able to choose from... More

The wheels have fallen off this place I'm afraid. We visited here three years ago and were wowed by the food and the charm of the place. But the service was terrible on our second visit this year. The staff were so busy because they are getting by on a skeleton staff on two and sometimes one person. So if... More

I really liked this hotel for the facts it was clean, simple and just delivered good value without the fuss of a chain/inner-city hotel. The hotel is within easy reach of Calais, Lille and Boulogne by car. Inside, the hotel has quite a rustic and cultured appearance with plenty of space to chill out in the lounge which has a... More

This hotel is just wonderful - relaxed and very reasonably priced. I stayed here with my husband and my father and we visited WW1 memorials in Flanders and the Somme. Christine and Phillipe will attend to your every need, you could not want for more attentive staff. The food is excellent and our room with a small balcony was fabulous... More
