I spent 3 nights at Tranna Hill during my completion of a walk along the course of the River Lune, from "Source to Sea". It is 4 star rated but in my opinion it should be 5? The house is beautifully appointed and the food & service likewise. The Hostess , Brenda is a walker and fully understands walkers needs,... More

Myself and my husband had a great stay at Tranna Hill, such a lovely house with beautifully decorated bedrooms (& very modern bathrooms) situated in lovely surrounds, but only 5 mins from M6 and 10 minutes from A66. I had read about the breakfasts on previous reviews and it certainly didn’t disappoint. A great choice with a tasty cooked breakfast!... More

Walking the Dales Highway,June 2011, and spending a whole wonderful clear sunny day walking from Sedbergh to Newbiggen, this B&B was a greeted with relief! A beautiful, clean, comfortable and well equipped room, we were able to look back at the Howgills from where we had just walked. Bliss! We appreciated Brenda's knowledge of the area and were able to... More

We've now stayed with Brenda on a few occassions in her house with such delightful views and amazing walking area, virtually on the doorstep. Brenda is a lovely host, who is always willing to help and offer information on anything you might care to chat about. Her rooms offer the most pleasant of stays, with every need catered for. The... We found Tranna Hill to be a great place to stay. The view of the Howgills from the rooms were fantastic. We recently walked Coast to Coast and decided to break our journey at Tranna Hill which is only half a mile off the route - what a find. We thoroughly recommend a visit. Brenda, the owner, made us feel... More

Tranna Hill Guest House is situated about 20 miles from Kendal, about 5 miles from the M6. Although close to an A-road there was no traffic noise in our double-glazed bedroom. The room (Boar Room) had fantastic views to the front, was a good size with King-sized bed and flat screen TV. The en-suite bathroom was very large and had... More
