I was quite excited after looking at their website and chose Vashind as my camping location. Hence I went along with my wife and 4 year old. But once i arrived, I was thorughly disappointed by the service. 'Wayne (the campsite co-ordinator) was simply in vain'. After we arrived, he simply pointed us to the direction of the tent and... Vistied Khopoli with a friend and still enjoyed, so not sure if one has to be in a big group to like this place. It's a nicely thought camping location closer to a lake with a small trail or hike which one can enjoy! Tents were clean. With hammock and table for yourself. Clean and proper sanitation arrangements. May be... More

Here are some observations for fellow travellers - Good things - 1) Overall, its a well managed campsite with clean tents, clean toilets and a okayish kitchen in their main administrative house. 2) The staff(Chitta, Nayan, Sunil) are quite polite and are available... The location is just beautiful cant wait to see how pretty it would be in the rains. Wayne and his team were just super. Frankly i had my doubts about the... More

I stayed at the Big Red Tent khopoli, with wife and kid on Christmas eve 2012. We went there with the right expectations....it was not meant to be a hotel room with plush services, but indeed a safe and practical camping experience in the outdoors. The basic needs were all met and the camping area itself was well situated with... More

Camping in your own tent, is a new concept in India(as far as I know with my limited knowledge). I have done it abroad. Its more independent and way of life there but I was very happy to discover it happening here too, in my country, in my state! Thanks BRT! Khopoli BRT is a basic camping experience. You may... More

A great place when you have a bunch of kids to keep occupied and still want to take a break. The kids are safe to run around and do their own thing with their torches, while parents chill. Wonderful way to spend a weekend and enjoy the Bombay winter too. The morning hike is a great thing too and worth... More
