Like Surama, Rewa is Amerindian owned and operated and the staff is still learning. Some places on the Internet describe Rewa as “rarely visited” but we found it quite the opposite. Of all the camps we stayed in, only Rewa was fully occupied during our stay and fully booked for some time ahead. The food is fairly good and the... More

I stayed 6 nights, 4 at the Rewa Eco Lodge and 2 camping. The experience was amazing. I was fortunate enough to get Marceline Edwards as my guide. Marceline's uncanny ability to spot animals, talk about plants, and best of all, her sharing the lore and beliefs of her Makushi peoples were the highlight of the trip. The boat captains... More

This was our favourite place to stay on our trip round Guyana. The location is great, right in the depths of the rainforest and next to the river. The benab looked newly built (one of three) and was very comfortable, the locals and guides were fantastic and so friendly. We climbed a mountain and the views were amazing, then the... More

I have travelled to Guyan 8 times now and I take classes of students and lead other groups as a naturalist. The Rupununi (Region 9) is an amazing 'lost world' rich in biodiversity and with intact and wonderul Amerindian villages, many of which have Eco-lodges. Rewa is one of the best of these indigenous-run ecolodges. We were part of the... More

We really loved Rewa. We had a splendid welcome from Rikki and his team. Our guides were excellent and nothing escaped their eagle eyes. They were very knowledgeable and tried very hard to show us otters, but the otters had other ideas. The accomodation was spotless and the food tasty. In all, the lodge development was completely fitting for it's... More

Rewa Eco-Lodge managed by the Ameri-Indian village of Rewa in Guyana's Rupununi. It is a 2-3 hour boat ride from the landing near Annai, or an hour by boat from Apoteri, by charter flight. I saw the best of Guyana's nature at Rewa, from giant river otters to arapaima. The lodge is well-managed and Dickie and his staff will take... More

Everything you read below is true: Rewa is magical. We took our 11 year old daughter and she had a fantastic time. She especially loved the canoe trip to Grass Pond with Rovin and Dennis where she caught a Red Bellied Piranha - something she will not doubt recount to her friends for many years to come! I only wish... More

After having just spent 2 weeks in the interior of Guyana Rewa is definitely the place to go for pristine rainforest. The lodge is quite basic but they are upgrading it with plans for internet, an airstrip and the service and food is excellent. This area is where the BBC spent a lot of time going upstream when filming their... More

The week we spent at Rewa Ecolodge during a recent bird and wildlife viewing trip to Guyana we definitely the highlight of our trip. If you're planning a bird watching trip or just enjoy getting away from it all, Rewa is a great spot. The travel company that arranged transport between lodges for our trip told us that we might... It may take a little longer to get there than the more established and well known lodges in Guyana's interior but that is just one small integral part of the fabulous Rewa experience. Depending on the weather for the river journey to/from Kwatamang landing, make sure that you either douse yourself in plenty of high factor sun cream (don’t forget... More
