Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Booked through hotel.com, was impressed so O booked my next business trip with them. Wow! MISTAKE! I realized after being sent to the4th floor next to a fire escape that I had been DUPED. I was informed anyone staying longer than a day gets pushed out of the best rooms. I was dissapointed as I sat here listening to a HUGE wall fan that drowns out the TV. Well that's all folks. I'm understand now my first visit was the teaser room.

Stayed here overnight. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Everything that was needed was provided, toiletries etc. Breakfast was excellent. Big variety of food and plenty of hot (and I mean HOT) coffee. Would highly recommend this budget hotel

Didn’t know there wasn’t on site parking so paying for parking off site, 3 blocks away wasn’t what we expected to have to do. Staff was very rude about it. Breakfast wasn’t the best and was in a very tiny room. Very slow elevator that we never used because it was so slow. Don’t know if I’d return.

I made a booking at the Comfort Inn for 2 night BnB for my wife and I for $555 for 2 nights. When I arrived I was welcomed by the Receptionists. I am sure they were ashamed of the hotel because of the price it charges. I checked into the Hotel 😂😂😂😂and got into the elevator to take me to my Bedroom floor, which broke down,it took 20 minuits.(Do not use the elevator) The best way to describe the size of the room is that it would be impossible to fall as the furniture was so tight.I went to reception and asked to be moved to a larger room but was told that was what I was paying for and nothing else was available. .I returned to my room. The next morning I went for Breakfast , I was horrified, there was one long table for everyone and 2 shelves, against the exterior walls, with bar stools along the wall. You waited until a chair was available you then proceeded to serve yourself, everything on paper plates with plastic cutlery,The food was shocking. I as well as many of the residents could only laugh. There was a TV on the wall showing the news which is on a time clock and turns off automatically at either 9 or 10. The Breakfast is a disgrace. The lady working in the Breakfast room the receptionist and the night porter tried to be as helpful as possible. Why on earth are they working in a hotel that rips off customers as it did to me. All the staff are excellent. I have no problem if this is the product but to charge me $555 for 2 nights for 2 people is dishonest. I stayed on the 4th June for 2 nights.I had never been in Toronto before and I was leaving on the 6 June otherwise I would have left immediately and the hotel had my debit card details. I expect a reply. Lallyliam@yahoo.ie. Liam Lally , Ireland.

After check in asked about the gluten free breakfast and the answer was clearly: no, we don't have any gluten free breakfast and even the fruits can be contaminated. They were happily taking anyway the payment for the breakfast.... Anyway, tried it out and they had some bananas which were not peeled, so got at least something. And yes, used the hot water to make my own instant oatmeal.

So I booked a two night stay here and arrived early so I dropped off my luggage and went on about my day. When I was heading back to the hotel I ended up in a serious car accident and ended up in the hospital. I then received an email stating that they would be charging me for my luggage storage. How was I suppose to know that I was going to be in a car acccident and unable to cancel my reservation or get my luggage. Never again will I stay in a Choice Hotel.

The Toronto Comfort Inn City Centre is another (lower) midrange hotel that’s declared itself to be 100% no-smoking without cleaning decades of smoke stink off the walls and curtains in at least some of its rooms. My room just reeked of stale tobacco smoke. I was able to mitigate the problem somewhat by keeping the fan going full-time, but this wouldn’t work so well in January. Everything else about the hotel was fine. Staff members were all very pleasant. The breakfast was fine. And the room came with a comfortable bed, toiletries, a refrigerator, a microwave (which I didn’t use), and adequate wifi. The hotel’s location on seedy Jarvis Street might be offputting to some, but, hey, Toronto is a very safe place, and Jarvis Street is one block from Church Street and two from Yonge. The location was extremely convenient.

I stayed at this hotel this past week for a road trip with a friend of mine. To book my room I called the hotels call centre for reservations. I explained to the call taker several times that I required 2 nights with one bed. I booked my 2 nights and was told I was all set. The call taker knew zero additional information about this hotel. There is no on site parking. Upon my arrival and checking in, I was told by the employee that I only reserved one night. After telling this employee that I spent 30 minutes on the phone with a call centre employee who knew nothing about they’re hotel, he offered no solutions. I have specifically and clearly stated I required 2 rooms and even advised of my check in date and check out date. I had to pack my belongings and find a new hotel as this one could no longer accommodate me for 2 nights although that’s what I had booked with the call centre (choice hotels I believe) Very unreliable. This was a nuisance having to relocate to another hotel during my vacation. For this reason I will not be returning to this hotel. To finish off, the security measures at this hotel were terrible. This hotel is in downtown Toronto and the front door is open in the middle of the night allowing anyone on the streets access to any room door without even crossing paths with the front desk employee.

Response from GuestServicesComfort, Guest Relations Manager at City Centre Hotel
Responded 29 July 2018
Dear TK-2935, I want to acknowledge the issues that occurred when you made your reservation through a third party website. It is important to note the details of your reservation, the confirmation number, and to call the hotel directly to make sure the the reservation you made through a third party site matches to what is in our system. The agents that work in these call centres do not represent the hotel, and it is always best to make reservations directly through the hotel and to direct your questions to the employees of Comfort Inn. In terms of the safety and security, yes our main entrance doors are open 24/7; however there is a front desk agent at all times. Furthermore, without a guest key, you cannot open the corridor that leads to any of the guest’s rooms.

Was here for a solo mini vacation and really liked my stay. The hotel staff were awesome, helpful and made great recommendation for great places to eat, and what to do in the city. The hotel is conveniently located right in down downtown and getting around with transportation system was fairly easy! The room was clean and looked modern, breakfast room was small but it was made up by how great and hospitable the server was (Lin).
