The hotel is kind of a student dorm but it was not noisy. The room was big and clean. It has a great location in downtown right by Eaton Centre. Breakfast was included in the fee and was really good. The only problem I noticed was with the elevators. The hotel is really big, has many floors and they don't... More

I booked into 89 Chestnut for a summer stay. Then, after reading the reviews (OK, should have read them first), cancelled the booking. On the day of the intended say, they took the one day minimum charge from my card. I spoke to them later, sent them the paperwork, and they refunded the charge. Very polite and helpful except that,... More

I looked for cheap hotels to rest for 2 nights and most of the hotels in Toronto are too expensive. The residence is pretty nice for the price. And it is located next to the city hall downtown! We booked a two double bed room and while the AC is very noisy (waked me up until I switched it off)... More

What a great place to stay. Our team stayed there in early may. The service was great, the rooms quality matched the cost. It was a 4 minute walk away from the busiest corner in Toronto - Dundas and young - eatons center, red lobster, johney rockets, hardrock cafe, etc. Right around the corner was a starbucks, subway, grocery store and... It is University dorm, but I was very comfortable and the staff was incredible. Great location too. Certainly not good for business, but a great place to crash for a ;few nights in Toron59.

We often stay at college/university residences when we travel in the summer, so I was not expecting luxurious accommodations and exemplary service. The members of the staff at 89 Chestnut Residence were friendly. The location of the residence is central. However, the room we stayed at was TERRIBLE - filthy is the only way to describe it. The linen seemed... More

Ninety nine dollars a night seemed like a good rate for a downtown hotel. We booked for four nights. They tried to charge $119.00 for the last 2 nights, but we got it reversed. As it was the shoulder season, we could have got a mid-range hotel in the same neighbourhood for $20 to $30 more a night. Our rationale... More

Aug 9, 2011 We stayed for one week due to family event. It was very unfortunately and shameful that there was absolutely NO standard of cleaninless and NO repair maintenance monitoring and applied to the facilities. The room were very very dirty and layer of dust had shown on top of the furniture. Annoyingly, the water from the sink in... More

The hotel is located in the center of the city, steps to Dundas subway station, Eaton Centre, City Hall and Nathan Phillips square where many events happen. We liked Japango Sushi & Noodle Restaurant on Dundas & Elizabeth Street. Buffet breakfast in the hotel was OK. You can use wired Internet for extra $5 by taking a modem and LAN... More
