I stayed here this past Thanksgiving weekend for the second time, and it was as great as I remembered it. Tom and Dorothy are extremely warm and welcoming - and they're wonderful cooks! The house is a gorgeous old mansion, and the rooms are beautiful, spotless, and full of character. Every morning there is a new breakfast with wonderful, creative... More

We traveled to Thunder Bay for a wedding with our 3 children, as well as another couple. Our hosts were fantastic...anything we needed was already thought of and waiting for us. The food was incredible. The Manor was inviting and immaculate. The McVicar is a charming little oasis, in the heart of Thunder Bay. We will definitely recommend the McVicar... More

We spent one night here and wish we could have stayed longer! The house and grounds are wonderful, the hosts incredibly nice. I would 110% recommend staying here. More

We hesitate to add a testimonial because we want to be selfish and keep this secret to ourselves! We had a lovely stay. The attention to all the little things that count was obvious and we felt wonderfully at home. The breakfasts were outstanding. The bedrooms and common areas were a phenomenal testament to historic preservation. We can't wait to... More

My husband and I had an amazing time at McVicar Manor. Tom & Dorothy were gracious hosts. They made us feel welcome and were extremely helpful in suggesting places to eat at and visit while in Thunder Bay. I highly recommend eating at Bistro One! The home was extremely clean. I truly appreciated the attention to detail. The breakfasts were... More

I had the good fortune to stay at McVicar Manor twice a week, for a period of four months. I had never stayed at a B&B for business before, so the idea made me a little nervous at first. I didn't need to be... Dorthy and Tom run a delightful operation and are the greatest hosts! I felt at ease... More

We had stayed at this beautiful old home several years ago and loved it. If anything, new owners Tom and Dorothy have improved the experience. They are warm, informal and welcoming. Since they are Thunder Bay natives who have returned to the city, they are a wealth of information about what to do and where to go in the area.... More

Tom and Dorothy have a lovely old mansion and were very gracious to us. on the first morn they barely batted an eye over our request for a very early breakfast as we were heading off for an early morning kayak with a local group on lake superior. nonetheless, they produced a gourmet brekky. they also assisted with restaurant selection... We stayed at this bed and breakfast in the fall of 2009. Our hostess Louise was exceptional, from greeting us at the front door to tucking a couple of freshly baked breakfast muffins into our bag (a snack for the road!) as we left. We were very impressed with her hospitality and professionalism. The Manor Room was wonderful, with beautiful... More

Spent Valentine's Night here with my husband. The hostess, Dorothy, was very welcoming and friendly. Took us on a tour of the house right away and then gave us our privacy. We stayed in the Manor room which was simply beautiful. The jacuzzi tub in our private ensuite bathroom was so relaxing, and the little attention to detail in all... More
