I recently spent 8 nights here for a sporting event. The price was right ($85) and reflected what I would consider a typical old 3 star hotel. The room I had was large, but very dated. As indicated in other reviews, the furniture and appliances were older (80's is a decade it reminded me of). The bed was very comfortable.... More

Stayed here for the first time and was very impressed. Obviously an older hotel, but it is nicely maintained and very charming. Had a tremendous view of the Sleeping Giant and Lake Superior. Massive rooms, very comfortable beds. Some of the furniture a little dated, but overall was very impressed. $105/night VERY reasonable for Thunder Bay.

We were driving from Toronto and in need of a reasonably priced hotel just to test overnight. We found this online. Drove to the hotel and booked 2 rooms for $98. Michael (front desk) was very nice and accommodating. The rooms were huge compared to the other hotels we went to. We'll definitely consider coming back to this hotel.

We liked staying here, great location, comfortable beds, big rooms and it does have character. The price of the room seemed about right because even though it has a lot going for it, it could use some TLC. The wall outlets are so old and loose anything plugged in just fell out. The tub was repainted but some of the... More

The place is iffy. If you can afford something else I suggest you try it. Not a place to bring a girlfriend. The wireless service was non functional most of the time and the staff did not appear to be concerned. The maid service not the greatest.

The Prince Arthur has been a landmark of the area for over 100 years. Once the most prominent hotel between Sault Ste Marie and Winnipeg, it has lost much of its glorious lustre. The rooms are of decent size and clean. The staff, both front desk and housekeeping are very friendly and helpful. Parking behind the hotel, on the bay... More

It was well worth the price. I like that it had a British feel to it. The bed wasn't that comfy though. But even though it was down town it was very quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent and very easy to access.

A 100+ year old hotel on the waterfront - how cool is that? The architecture is classic, the details are too, so bear in mind that renovations and updates are very limited in what can be done. That said, be ready to not have a sleek and modern looking room and furnishings and just enjoy the history and area. The... More

This is a great heritage hotel: lovely early 20th century railroad hotel, large rooms, fantastic view over Lake Superior. Slept very well on comfortable mattresses, ate fantastic breakfasts. Great value for money. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. A must for anyone going to Thunder Bay.

This is a good place to stay. Not great. Looks like new carpet and new tile on the bathroom floor. But the tile on the shower walls is old...kinda retro and I like it. But it needs some re-grouting. The bed was good but I know that it is old. Working in the Hotel industry I know what 15 year... More
