Average place, food in house was marginal. Nothing to do in the village....will stay in Peterborough next time. No theatres, public transportation, or activities. Pretty sleepy especially if you are on business and would like something to do at night. Having to drive into Peterborough all the time was a bit of an aggravation.

We went thinking the would be kind of like an overnight getaway, but found the rooms to be very basic. Clean and comfortable enough, but certainly not a getaway. Nicely located on the main street, but surprisingly quiet, especially considering the Thirsty Loon pub is just downstairs.

We stayed for a hockey tournament. A snow storm meant many of us could only come on the Saturday and they offered everyone a $30 cancellation fee vrs the charge for the night, considering they are an independent hotel I thought this to be very generous. The hotel and the staff are really nice. Comfortable rooms, cleaned nicely etc. It was a good stay and certainly was not unconfortable at all. On Friday nights the music from the loon does come through the floor but it finished by 1, The breakfast is included and the buns from the bakery are nice. Thanks

We have stayed here twice this year and found it a very restful place. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The village of Lakefield is amazing everyone made us feel at home. Cannot wait to go back. Stayed here for a conference in the area recently. Serviceable accommodations....breakfast is below average...business amenities lacked a lot...small desk..no business centre..copy services etc. No pool or work out room. Pub on site is average. Nothing much to do after six....they roll the streets up pretty early. I'll stay in Peterborough next time. Hope this helps.
