Belvedère is a sweet old lady, dressed up with stilish garments, fitted for a young bohémienne. My upstairs room (No, no elevator young girl!) was decorated according to the 1920- fashion, but with a twentyfirst centory comfortabele bed (and bathroom). Fitting furniture, afghan carpet, nice lamps... Etc. The hosts are friendly and very helpfull. They let me make a phonecall... More

When the ferry to our island near Kingston tied up because of strong winds one recent Friday night, we wound up -- at 11 p.m. -- at The Belvedere and were delighted with our choice. The owner himself was on duty that evening and understood our predicament, offering us toiletries to make our visit more salubrious. He also upgraded us... More

Really unfortunate...we have heard so many good things about this property. The furniture was mostly falling apart and was in need of restoration, the paint was peeling, and the posters (?) needed to be replaced...it generally required the commitment of continuous upkeep as historic buildings do. The younger staff were polite and helpful. Don't waste your money...we feel we did.... More

I will start out saying I did not choose this place, it was chosen for us for a 75th birthday celebration and we had family come from all over the province. Because the rooms only have one bed and we are a family with two children, we had to book two rooms. Even taking the two cheapest in the place... More

My husband and I spent one night at this wonderful hotel on our way from Toronto to Montreal. I fell in love with the place, it's so well kept and beautifully decorated with authentic period pieces of furniture! The building itself is a historical building and has been used as a hotel since 1920s, I believe. Our room on the... More

This was our third visit to Hotel Belvedere and definitely won't be our last. If we go to Kingston a thousand more times in our lifetimes, then we will stay at the Hotel Belvedere every one of those thousand times. Nowhere else in the area - or any other area - could hope to compare. It is perfectly situated within... More

We were in Kingston for a couple days, to attend a wedding. Hotel Belvedere is near the lakefront (about 1 block) and near the "cool" part of downtown Kingston (about 4 blocks). It is relatively inexpensive -- compared to the waterfront hotels -- it is very clean, and the people working there are infallibly helpful and nice. The included breakfast... More

Great location, close to lake, Queen's and downtown. Room was very comfortable and immaculate. Shower had great pressure. Wi-FI is included. Staff very friendly and obliging. If you're accustomed to small breakfasts, you'll love this place. In the morning you specify coffee or tea (variety of flavours) then you are served a tray with toasted English muffins, cheese, peanut butter... More

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Belvedere for our two-day 'minimoon' in August, and we had a great time. The location is prime - we lived in Kingston for quite a long time, so we can say this with certainty - and the bed was very comfortable. The room was spacious with a high ceiling and even a little... More
