Thanks to Margaret and Tony we had a fabulous stay in Digby, and found Holdsworth House to be charming, comfortable and very welcoming. My daughter and I stayed in the Mabel room, slept like babies, and enjoyed our tour around the area. Dinner at Mag Pye's was out of this world, and breakfasts were delicious. We felt quite spoiled by... More

This is a really lovely, very historic property that the owners have lovingly restored. It's very centrally located, but on a very quiet little street. My room and ensuite bathroom were very charming and spotlessly clean, and the bed was most comfortable (I stayed in their room with two twin beds, the "Mabel Room"). The owners also run a bakery... We stayed with Margaret and Tony for 2 nights, on the first night of our week long biking adventure, and the last night. The B&B is a unique experience back into time, with thank goodness the convenience of modern comforts such as the best hair dryer in Nova Scotia. Our hosts were amazingly generous with their time and knowledge. Margaret's... More

Thank you so much for your kind words. Tony and I enjoyed having you stay with us. Great conversations and it was entertaining to hear of your adventures while biking through our province. We hope that you return again some day, and it is because of guests like you both, that we enjoy what we do, and feel appreciated for... More

We had a delightful stay at this most unusual B&B last September. We journeyed to Digby with close friends, and had decided to participate in the dinner preparation "experience" organized by Margaret. These proprietors have worked very hard to restore the property, and work even harder to provide quests with authentic and unusual experiences. All shared in preparing the evening... More

Wow, thank you very much for the wonderful review. We thoroughly enjoyed having you and your friends as guests of the Holdsworth House. Performing an 18th century dinner re-enactment takes a lot of work, but well worth it when we have guests (like yourselves) that appreciate the effort. I hope that your friends newly published book is doing well, and... More

Let me start by saying I rarely bother to review places my wife and I stay but I feel a few words about the Holdsworth House in Digby Nova Scotia are essential. We have stayed at B&B's in Canada and Europe for over thirty years now and NOTHING can match this place for uniqueness, cleanliness and old fashioned hospitality and... More

From the moment I called to make our reservation until I left Digby, and now, Margaret and Tony have been friends more than hosts. Holdsworth is the closest thing I have experienced to an 18th century luxury - impeccably maintained and cared for. Their cafe by the waterfront - Magpyes is another gem and talk of the town, for its... More

My husband and I took my first trip to Nova Scotia this summer and Digby was part of the plan mainly for whale-watching - an experience too beautiful for words. But Digby is also special for a wonderful home and its lovely residents. Maggie and Tony have put in a lot of love in this beautiful property. For me personally,... More

I felt at home from the moment I was greeted by Tony and Margaret and their pets. Spending time with them one evening made me feel like I was with old friends. They are naturals at what they do and are sincerely interested in sharing their knowledge and experiences with you. I had the James Addington Holdsworth room to myself.... More

Reading the reviews of the Holdsowrth House Bed and Breakfast, it sounded too good to be true. It wasn't. We were totally blown away by Margaret and Tony with their hospitality and their home. The home is a walk back through the centuries, while the rooms are holding to that tradition but with the amenities you would expect in a... More

I agree with everything people said before. I can just add that Tony and Margaret have 2 cats and 4 dogs, and my kids really liked to play with them. The house is like a museum, that you can live in- a unique experience, and we loved it a lot. So thanks again to wonderful hosts, for personal care and... More
