We arrived at this B&B in the rain after driving the Cabot Trail from Baddeck, NS. Our welcome at 'A Charming Victorian' was warm and helpful. We had tea and cakes before we even had our bags taken upstairs (thanks for that). Over tea, menus were produced for local restaurants and a reservation for dinner was made for us close... More

I have stayed with Ann and Alex for several years now when visiting Sydney on business. Their B & B is immaculate and so welcoming. I appreciate that each room has its own private bathroom as well as a television, and the wireless internet access is great for helping me keep in contact with my office. They think of everything,... Thank you to Ann and Alex for a wonderful stay, and for taking my last minute reservation. Your house is beautiful and I felt very comfortable while there. The jacuzzi tub was just what my back needed after a 6-hour drive, and the nice cup of hot tea in the livingroom with some of your famous cookies and some great... More

Stayed here for three nights while touring Cape Breton and it was wonderful. As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted by the gracious Alex and Ann who were so friendly and hospitable, we felt really welcome. We stayed in the Pearl Room with two comfortable twin beds and a large and clean bathroom. The breakfast started... More

You've got to visit this B&B! The second we walked through the door and met Alex and Ann they treated us like old friends. My wife was thrilled that they made the laundry facilities available at no extra cost, since we'd been on the road long enough to warrant a few loads. If you like sharing stories of travel, or... We spent two nights in this B&B. Ann & Alex made us feel extremely welcome; they are very gracious hosts. Our room and food were exceptional. Toured Cape Breton. B&B is centrally located in Sydney. We had a memorable visit. More

We spent two nights here since Sydney is an area of Cape Breton that we had not yet explored and this location was central to numerous attractions. The owners/hosts have restored a Victorian home near a historic district and it is clear that they love running a B&B. They were extremely helpful with dinner suggestions in the area (most are... Ann and Alex were superb and welcoming hosts and made us feel completely at home in their well-kept B&B. We stayed one night at the end of October before heading off on the Cabot Trail and as it was slightly out of season and there was no one else staying that night, Ann and Alex gave us the pick of... Anne and Alex offer a warm, friendly and personal attention to everyone of their guests. Their place is clean and beautifully decorated. Their breakfast is excellent... Home made cookies were a part of our day, as Anne made sure to add confort to our day trip as we discovered and enjoyed the beauty of Cape Breton. We loved our stay... More

If what you're looking for is a B&B with beautiful rooms, impeccable bathrooms, breakfasts that would make my mother blush and 2 of the kindest people Cape Breton has to offer; stop looking, you found it. I came acroos the B&B on a general search of the net while planning our trip around the maritime provinces. They were between the... More
