Four Miles to Heaven. That's exactly how I felt when I recently stayed at the Four Mile Beach Inn--it's a piece of Heaven, and then some more!. John and Janet, the proprietors, have mastered the art of conversation and hospitality. They're the most lovely hosts that I have met in a very long time. The Ritz Hotel should be taking... More

This is a very interesting B&B. We were much later than expected in arriving (9:30pm), which meant we had to drive part of the Cabot Trail's twisty roads in the dark. Also - the GPS co-ordinates are not correct, so make sure you get the directions from Janet or John, the hosts. The establishment is wonderfully rustic and charming. One... More

Northern Cape Breton is a remote area and as such offers very few accomodations. This place should definitely be at the top of your list if you're travelling there. The hosts are extremely gracious and welcoming people. The house is over a 100 years old and they have preserved its old feel and look very well. The rooms are very... More

The hosts here are lovely people; very sociable and helpful. The house has been preserved as it was probably when it closed as a shop in hte 40s? which is rustic quaint and interesting. The rooms are clean and everything works but the bathrooms could do with updating for the price. If it was cheaper than other much fresher places... More

In response to this review of our inn, we feel it's important to say that when we were notified (five days in advance of the visit) that our guest wished to have a gluten-free breakfast, we tried our best to find an appropriate breakfast item in eight local grocery stores and two bakeries in the area. She said gluten-free cereal... More

You know, there aren't too many accommodation options in the north part of Cape Breton Island, so no one goes there expecting too much. And let's face it: if you're wanting to stay in the North Cape its probably so that you can get a taste of the Island's natural beauty and wilderness, not the luxury of a 4 or... More

No, you be the judge! Further to the comments made in this review about our inn, we would like to clarify the mis-representation of facts presented here by the writer and respond to the tone of the review. Firstly, we are sorry if we inadvertantly offended the guest in any way during his visit. We are perplexed at the lengthy... More

The perfect destination for biking the Cabot Trail. We arrived at 4 Mile Beech Inn after a 120 km. bike ride from Baddeck. The Inn owners, Janet and John, bent over backwards to make our stay amazing. From the appetizers they arranged, to the breakfast of champions, it was all perfect. What an amazing place. Thank you so much for... More

Our family of 4 (kids: 11 & 6), spent an all too short night at the Four Mile Inn Bed and Breakfast, between Cape North and Cape St. Lawrence, in Cape Breton. Being right on the roadside, it was easy to locate--almost drove by. The inn is very charming, with its General Store/Canadian Pickers feel to it. But the owners,... More

From the moment I walked through the door, I relaxed. I stayed at the Four Mile Beach Inn with some friends for three nights during a cycling adventure around Cape Breton. We arrived early in the evening, in the twilight, and the Four Mile Beach Inn was the cozy port in the storm we were anticipating. John, the proprietor was... More

Four of us booked a 3 night stay at this B & B as a rest stop on a long tandem bicycle ride around the Cabot Trail. We chose it primarily for its convenient half-way point in our trip, but were delighted in every way, and were reluctant to leave! The property is a preserved general store from the 1800's,... More

Although this wasn't a luxurious or immaculate Bed and Breakfast, the owners were very friendly and accomodating. The breakfast was a continental style with homemade breads and muffins each day, served on a lovely outdoor deck. It's an old house so don't expect modern rooms. The plumbing was a bit crochety and light fixtures didn't always work. Watch out for... More
