We have stayed several times at the Bread and Roses Inn, most recently in July 2011. The reasons we keep returning: • clean, spacious, quiet rooms with comfortable beds • the breakfasts are delicious and plentiful. • We enjoy chatting with fellow guests and the hosts, Jim & Gaya, but they also offer smaller tables in the dining room if... Room good but not very welcoming. Very nice town, all within walking distance. Limited choices for Dinner in the town. Breakfast acceptable no offer of more coffee or tea or toast. More

We stayed in room#6 for 1 night. Our room was clean and comfortable. The inn is elegantly decorated and has lots of architectural details. The breakfast was plenty and scrumptious. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. We also found the location very quiet and convenient for our trip. We highly recommend it! More

We saved the best for our last three days in Nova Scotia. This is one of the best B&Bs we've stayed in whether in Canada, the US, or Europe. Our hosts, Jim and Gaya (and Bella the cheerful labradoodle) were friendly, knowledgeable, and always helpful. Our comfortable room on the main floor was fresh and bright. The wonderful breakfasts gave... More

This was by far the best b&b stop of our 21 day trip to Nova Scotia, PEI and New Brunswick. Our room was beautiful and Jim and Gaya were charming and helpful hosts. Jim talked us into going on the night time graveyard tour and we were glad we did as it was excellent! The breakfast was great and all... More

The Victorian flavor of this b&b feels much more authentic than some -- cabbage roses on the wallpaper and lace curtains, yes, but no "cute" additions. The host and hostess are unfailingly helpful, the breakfast is sumptuous and the beds are comfortable indeed. Linens are crisp, but soft -- not always true in B&Bs. The only downside that we found... I stayed here last fall along with four colleagues. Since it was off season, Jim let us choose our rooms when we got there. It was a little before supper, so once we were all settled, he made us all tea and we chatted until dinner. When we got back from dinner, we asked if we could setup our Wii... More

My daughter and I found our stay at Bread and Roses Inn to be exceptional. Our hosts were great and went the extra mile to see that we were happy, from the magnificent room to the fantastic breakfast. They were very helpful in letting us know about the town, where to have a nice late dinner and directed us to... More

This is an 18th century home, well restored while keeping it's charm. Common areas are well-kept, rooms are clean, breakfast was very tasty, quiet neighbourhood, very relaxing time! More
