Just arrived and wish I could leave as fast. Guy who checked me in so a grump. Heart attack waiting to happen. Looks miserable and so is the vibe around here. Kitchens close 21:30 and he tells you to go to your room or downstairs the cramped tv room. There is no atmosphere here at all. If you can spend... More

I've stayed at this hostel a few times and overall I find it to be just ok. The location is good if you have an early bus or train ride. The all women's dorm was very comfortable and despite the hostel being off of a busy road it was very quiet. I do think that the female bathroom and kitchen... More

Finding a perfect backpacker hostel feels like winning in a lottery. I did when I experienced the C&N in Vancouver. Friendly and Peaceful, and as a senior single traveller, I felt SAFE. I had a big single room, a huge bed and a tv-set. Access to kitchen, computer and balkony (for smokers). In five minutes walk you'll find train-bus-station and... More

Okay... First of all I want to stay, that I really never expect too much from a hostel. I think that as long a minimum level of cleanliness is provided all is fine. However, even after arriving in Vancouver after a 36 hour trip, I was not able to bear the accommodation we were provided in this hotel. I wanted... More

Despite the location close to E Hastings (a few sketchy people may be on the street at night), this was a great hostel. Sure, it was a little old and rundown, but I have stayed here twice now and have never had any issues. Recently we had a private room and the price couldn't be beat. The woman running desk... More

Hector - night manager very gruff, no social skills. Day time manager very good and helpful. I was in a dorm room and had a very strange room mate; never left the room, never said anything and smelled VERY bad. The place over than room mate was pretty clean.

Its one of the cheaper hostels but its in a crap location there is nothing around & only a couple of blocks away from junkies/homeless ppl. You may as well pay more money to stay in city in a nicer place instead of wasting your money on the skytrain! Only 1 shower for a whole floor of about 25ppl u... More

Yep, it's ok. Good location; Chinatown has cheap produce and it's close, TnT for the sushi after 8pm, the train/bus station, etc. Problem is some of the long-term renters(over one year); they want you to follow their rules; in a public place? But it's clean, and the long-termers keep it that way so there yah go.
