The first thing you learn about Sunwapta is not to trust your Sat Nav, it takes you to their mail address in Jasper, quite why they can't advise all the normal Sat Nav companies of this beggars belief. The resort is expensive and more like and 1970's English motorway services with accommodation. The cabins are dated, and in serious need... More

We stayed just one night but I would certainly recommend this place. We stayed in a 'hideaway' room, a corner room at the end of the block, with a fire place. Although the building did not look too impressive from the outside, the room inside was spacious and nice. The large fireplace certainly adds to the charm. There was a... More

We had mixed feelings about this place. We stayed for two nights on our way back up the Icefields Parkway to Jasper. It is useful for getting to the Columbia Icefilelds early, and you have to appreciate it is some 50k from Jasper. Our family of four (2 kids, 11 and 9) stayed in a Rocky Mountain Double. The kids... Takes a good 45 minutes to drive to from Jasper, but well worth it. It was nice being out on Highway 93, being close to the Columbia Ice Fields, Horseshoe Lake, Athabasca and Sunwapta Falls. Lots to keep a family busy at a low cost. More

From the moment we arrived at Sunwapta Falls Resort, we were greeted by friendly and helpful staff who told us everything we needed to know about our amenities and gave us recommendations on hikes and trails to make the most of our short stay in the area. The town of Jasper is about 45km north of Sunwapta, so we dropped... More

We loved our 2-night stay at this resort. Rooms are bit small, but very clean. This a great option if you want to be close to the wild, but still too lazy to camp! Restaurant a bit pricy, but again that is expected in the middle of the jungle! More

I'm scratching my head as to why people like this place. When planning my trip through Banff and Jasper, I didn't really know how long it would take to get through the Icefields Parkway, and I thought a night along the parkway might be a good idea to split the trip up. I didn't really realize how close Sunwapta is... More

Had a great stay at this property, but there is one thing you should know that is not readily mentioned anywhere in the Lodge's web site: it is 34 miles south of Jasper in Sunwapta Falls! If that is not a problem for you, then this is quite a nice place to stay. It was a bit of a surprise... More

Hi Dunkeroo! Thanks for leaving your comments on TripAdvisor. It may seem unorthodox, but I encourage all people that stay with us to leave reviews even if, as in your case, a mistake was made. All reviews help the reader, and help us improve guest experience at the lodge. As we spoke about during your time at Sunwapta, my offer... More
