We spent 9 nights at Canalta Lodge in February. Rooms were clean, spacious and well-equipped. Location was good - in walking distance of all the shops, bars and restaurants, but in a nice quiet spot. Underground parking was really helpful, as were the guest laundry facilities ($4 for a wash, $3 for drying - cash only!). Breakfast was simple but satisfying and of course I have to mention the s'mores - such a treat after day of skiing! The hot tubs were also a nice touch, however they could get a bit busy at peak times. But the best thing about the hotel was the amazing staff. Everyone went out of their way to make us feel welcome - particularly Phoebe, Kieran and Ben (Scotland!). I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone thinking about a trip to Banff.

Spent 5 nights and it was perfect. Rooms were spacious quiet and comfortable. Great facilities with 2 hot tubs, cold plunge and dry sauna. Outdoor fire pit and free s’mores kits free breakfast were all a nice touch. Hotel was located at the beginning of Banff ave and a short stroll to downtown.

My family (2 adults & a five-year-old) stayed at Canalta at Christmas for 3 nights. We were satisfied with the size and cleanliness of the room. A very comfortable stay in general. The free breakfast offered quite a variety of options. Get us all ready before catching the 8:30 coach at the door. We were particularly impressed by how helpful and resourceful the staff was. We had rescheduled a shuttle service from Banff to Calgary which the coach company failed to observe. Jordan at the front desk helped us made a reservation immediately so we could leave as soon as possible. He even went the extra mile of calling the original coach company and asked for a refund. We were more than grateful for his help. The only drawback we could think of probably is that Canalta is a bit far from Banff town center. But the bus stop was 1 min away with a fast food shop right beside it, it didn’t bother us much. Highly recommend. Would return for next ski trip.

We had a king room with a kitchen and balcony. Room and bed was great. Only reason not 5 stars for room is pigeon on balcony but service to clean up was quick and Joel made sure he took care of us. The whole staff especially the front desk manager( I think was Jordan )went way above and beyond! Will return this summer.

We had a great time at Canalta. Our room was spacious, bed comfortable and the wider hotel had everything we needed. We were there when a major cold snap came through and it was a great place to be holed up, with lots of board games and space to hang out with friends. Loved the spa and s’mores (although the spa is closed at extremely cold temperatures). One disadvantage was being a 15 minute walk from town which was particularly hard when temperatures neared -40C. There is a bus close by but they don’t come very often. Ski shuttle pickup is right outside. We stayed for 5 night and so the breakfast got very boring - it is just the same menu everyday and not a huge selection and certainly not a healthy selection. No complaints though - it was included for free! We would definitely stay again.

I LOVE this hotel. It represents an excellent value, great rooms, great location, and more. We stayed in early December 2023 for skiing at Big3. Our double queen room with balcony was spacious, clean, comfortable, with everything in working order. Loved the all-natural toiletries owned by a local, indigenous-owned company. And the little touches like bottle opener built in to counter, etc. Ski-wise, you get a free locker in the heated parking garage (at no extra cost). The shuttles for each of the 3 mountains pick up and drop off RIGHT in front of the lodge. It couldn't be easier. The staff are wonderful. They go above and beyond. The amenities are also AMAZING and quite unexpected (in the best possible way) for a hotel at this price point. 3 large hot tubs, cold plunge pool, and dry sauna in the courtyard. Amazing lobby with fireplaces, games, and books. Really great happy hour at the lobby bar. Really good breakfast (complimentary for all guests). The vibe is perfect and the value is tremendous. Highly recommend!

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We even got a minor upgrade to a room with a balcony. However the room was quite dark (no overhead lighting) and the hot water took a very long time in the shower. Breakfast was good and balances out having to pay for parking. Overall it was good but if we stayed here again we would book a larger room for the 3 of us (2 adults and an 8 year old).

A very nice place but with just a few design flaws that make me question a return stay. The hotel is well decorated, warm and inviting and has a nice vibe. Hot tubs are great. Breakfast is comparable to Hilton hotel breakfasts - ok nothing to write home about. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable but the bathroom is very dark (especially when in the shower) and the shower tubs are deep and a hazard unless you want to have a bath. A walk in shower would make so much more sense and be more comfortable and practical. The doors are so loud don't plan on sleeping past 6am when folks start heading to breakfast all you can hear are doors slamming and hallway noise. The coffee and bar area was a nice touch. The toiletries were the highlight for me, loved the hand made soaps. Overall decent and nice decor, but not so restful.

This was the BEST trip ever. The staff was superb, especially Kristopher! I am already looking into planning a trip back. You can walk to town so easily if you stay here so you really don't need a car. Nothing could have been improved; everything was great. I've been to hotels with "free" breakfasts that I wouldn't eat. Their breakfasts were delish!!! Totally recommend Canalta Lodge. You won't be disappointed!
