Insist on upper levels rooms if you must stay here. The lower level rooms while interesting looking are terrible. Room 8 has no door to the bathroom and no shower and zero windows. It was musty and smelly. Rock dust is all over. If you have allergies beware. The TV did not work and the required humidifier due to the... More

I recently booked at this hotel and made a HUGE mistake picked the non-refundable option! The next day I called back to see if they would be flexible at all and discovered they were awful and very rigid...despite the fact my booking is for 7 months away they were absolutely inflexible. I was shocked at the lack of customer service... More

Dear JP11111, we take note of your review which don’t appear true because you never staied at our hotel because of your error during the booking and we also tried to resolve the problem, even tough you had reserved a NOT REFUNDABLE RATE (no flexible), where it is specified in the cancellation policy. The policy states that it is not... More

We found the hotel quite easily and parked in the right area but the wrong side of the zebra crossing before spending 3 nights here in October. The first 2 nights in an upstairs room (no 2), which was a good size and very comfortable, apart from the old stone stairs leading up to the first floor. Not for anyone unsteady... More

Spent 2 nights here in junior suite - actually an annex in converted neigbouring house - large comfortable room with sitting area. No view but well insulated from street noise and good air con . This attractive town has very narrow streets and finding hotel was a nightmare even with a sat nav- we parked as directed by the hotel... More

This is a really beautiful hotel carved out of rock and, as with all buildings in these ancient cities, situated over prior ruins. We were traveling in a group, and so we saw 4 different rooms. Each was very unique with stone walls, vaulted ceilings, leveled floors, windows all around with great views, and quiet comfort. Tony was so helpful... More

Spent 2 nights here. Specifically went to Ragusa to stay at this hotel based on photos I had seen of the rooms. Our room was exactly as hoped. Rock barrel ceilings, bathroom large with rock walls, floor had area covered in glass/acrylic that looked down at ruins under room. Tony helped with bags, parked our car, and gave great directions... We can't say enough about our very enjoyable stay here. We took one of the upstairs rooms, which is an adventure just to climb the rocky stairs. Tony, the manager, took very good care of us and he's a delightful personality with many stories to tell. Nuncia, the breakfast lady, was very efficient and taught us some Italian, and she's... More

While the drive to find the hotel is frightening (you have to go down streets marked "do not enter), the hotel is lovely and has charming service. An Italian-American from New Jersey, Tony, works there and is invariably helpful and friendly. Lovely room and an excellent breakfast.

We stayed here for two nights. The hotel is small and is in very old converted stables. Standing inside, it is a little like being in a cave, but don't let that put you off. The rooms are beautifully presented, and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The hotel is very well placed. Parking can be an issue but... More

This little place, while not perfect, conveys the perfect ambience for the stay in a Sicilian hill town. The hotel is seemingly built into the rocks--that is an illusion, probably, but you definitely feel like you are where you are--in a building which is probably hundreds of years old, on a narrow street in a small, charming Italian town.
