I've stayed at the Temple Hall Hotel a few times and each time it has been a pleasure. Marilyn, the owner, is very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble.
Breakfast is full English with all that goes with it, served in the bar.
Ideally situated for the St Cuthbert's Way or plenty of other local walks - it's the...

Our welcome was warm and friendly. Wet walking clothes were tumble dried and newspaper supplied to put in the sodden boots. After a couple of pints we felt great. This establishment is well run by Marlyn and Alex. A good atmosphere in the pub. The evening meals were very good ( Mushroom Soup / Gammon & Egg....Prawn & Chilli Sauce...

Stopped here for a coupe of nights, ate in bar/restaurant and was please with selection, value . and portions. Local and guest beers should be samples as it also includes chats with others in the bar. One night was a bit noisy as bar occupants left as rooms are directly over. Breakfast was extensive, great value and excellently cooked. Rooms...

I arrived at the Templehall Hotel, shattered from having had a bad night the night before. I appreciated the warm welcome and concern. I didn't surface during the evening but friends came with offers of food and drinks from manager and his wife. Our room was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and I was sorry that we had...

We were staying in Morebattle for a few nights recently and visited Templehall several times for a few beers and also on a couple of occasions for food. On our last night I had pork fillet with black pudding served with a delightful sauce and my husband beef olives which were apparently very tasty. Wholesome home made fare. Everyone extremely...

Went to a christmas party night at the Templehall last night. The food was brilliant. Pate was great and turkey dinner was really good as well just like what you would make at home and the food was piping hot. The band that were playing were also great and the dancefloor was never empty, definately return next year.
Perfectly located right on the route of the St. Cuthbert's Way, a good place to stay. My room was very clean and perhaps a bit old-fashioned looking, but it definitely had everything I needed. There was good home-cooked food in generously-sized portions to round off the day's walking.
For those walking St Cuthbert’s Way, this is the perfect pit-stop. A small inn, in a small village, with a big welcome and lots of charm. OK, the rooms are small too, but they are comfortable and have all the expected facilities. Evening meals, served in the bar, are better than expected – not microwaved pub grub, but genuine home...

If you want to break your St Cuthbert's Way journey in Morebattle, you will end up staying here - so it's lucky that it's a good place to stay. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed, although the decor isn't as plush or modern as some of the other B&Bs we stayed at en route. The bar downstairs...
