We stayed at the Hotel Budir on April 21, 2013. Overall it was a good experience. it's a homey style hotel with lots of books and National Geographics in English to read going back to the early 60's. We knew it was going to be pricey but what the hell we are on vacation and the Snæfellsnes Peninsula is really... More

I have often stayed at hotel Budir and to me this is the most interesting place in Iceland. Not only the hotel itself but the whole environment. The hotel was, few years ago, rated one of TEN most interesting hotels in the world by the sea side. Dining there is a great experience, the fish, the vegetables, the meat, all... More

I want to note that the Snaefellness Penninsula is astonishingly beautiful, however, in April, it is still winter - very much so. The small fishing villages at the end of the world are also amazing, but devoid of people due to the season. Very little is open, and there is one town/village - Fysshik (?) that is about an hour... This was the last leg of our honeymoon and so we treated ourselves a bit. This is a very cool and unique boutique hotel in the absolute middle of nowhere. We took a few short drives while we were there, and a horseback ride right up the road, but mostly we just relaxed and enjoyed the amazing views from the... More

I was so excited for our 1 night stay at Hotel Budir. The reviews and the photos online made me think it'd be my favorite stop during our Icelandic adventure. While the area was awesome (my husband and I fell in love with the peninsula and the beach and lands around Hotel Budir were definitely magical) I was very disappointed... More

Hotel Budir is a quaint, beautiful hotel located in a spot with epic, breathtaking views. A visit to Budir will give you a glimpse of the simple Icelandic life up north and the incredible scenery of Snaefellsness, ocean cliffs, fishing villages and more. The restaurant was elegant and a nice addition to this authentic Icelandic experience.

Hotel Budir is situated in the wilds of West Iceland with our photographic group booked here for four nights as a base for touring the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. We arrived on a grey rain threatening day to a stark looking exterior of two buildings but then walked into a warm well-appointed interior of a small boutique hotel. My room situated on... More

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Budir in March of '13 for one night. The weather was terrible including a snow storm, but the hotel was very comfortable and cozy and fun to stay during a storm. It is a beautiful setting, on the coast but out away from everything in the middle of the stark beauty of... More

We spent one night at Hotel Budir while driving through the west part of Iceland. Absolutely loved our room (Room 28 I believe). There was a skylight and a balcony to try and glimpse the Northern Lights. There's a TV in the room, but you're in Iceland so why bother? The hotel is across from a little beach and extremely... We first experienced the Hotel Budir when we called in for a drink while touring Iceland in June 2012. We loved the location, which is absolutely fantastic, and decided it would be the ideal place to view the Northern Lights during winter. It is an upmarket, expensive hotel but for us it was to be a treat and so we... More
