A very clean & tidy property, lovely hosts & view of the sea - what's not to like. Thank you Tim & Hilary for your kind hospitality & your advice on the local area. The house hunting went well & we look forward to being neighbours at some stage in the future! More

Wow! And yes, I really mean it. My wife and I were on a motorcycle tour of Scotland when the weather turned a bit wet and windy. We rang Tim with one day's notice, explained that we were bikers and wondered on availability. Luckily there was an availability in the double room, (which has the most amazing views of the... More

..in the best b&bs you arrive as a stranger but after 4 days feel like you are leaving friends. When the owners enjoy what they are doing as much as Tim & Hillary then it is infectious. Great breakfast, fine conversations, lovely room and fine time exploring the beaches. Professional & friendly and very relaxing. Thank you Tim, Hillary &... More

We had a very warm welcome from our hosts, who went out of their way to be helpful. We were impressed by their attention to detail - we had binoculars in our room, which were useful for watching the waders from our bedroom window and when we came back from our meal we found the teacups and wine glasses we'd... This was our fourth time (I think !) with Tim and Hilary in as many years. As usual, the welcome was warm, the accommodation superb, and the breakfasts lived up to our memory, if not even better ! February in Scotland ? Whilst the rest of the country had snow (the Midlands) or rain (Lancashire, as always) this little corner... More

My experience at Hawthorn House in August was so good that I returned the following week for another few days but Trip Advisor doesn't allow 2nd review for the same place within three months. It's a great B&B and I have no hesitation in recommending it. More

A brilliant B&B! We stayed in the King Size En Suite which had a fabulous sea view, perfect for watching the sunset. Other highlights of our room included white fluffy bathrobes, a heated towel rail, fresh milk and homemade shortbread (replenished each day!) The breakfasts were superb with generous portions and huge pots of tea and coffee. For dinner, Tim... More
