Hi, my name is Raul Duarte, architect and owner of Casa Limonchelo. My wife and I have made a cozy bed and breakfast out of a what some have called a "palace!" We are very proud to have purchased and renovated this treasure that doubles as our family's home. It is so rewarding to host people from all over the world! We have now hosted guests from England, Italy, Spain Colombia, Greece, Canada, United States, Bugaria, and of course, Mexico:) My two young sons also very much enjoy this process! We love helping our guests feel at home! We are open 24 hours a day and serve homemade breakfast and can help you arrange tours of such interesting sights as mariposa trees filled with millions of wintering monarch butterflies, ancient pyramids, and interesting cities like Patzcuaro, Uruapan, and others. Casa Limonchelo is situated in an incredible location, right in the "El Centro" (The Center of town). At the same time, the house is very quiet. One of its best features is the incredible open air courtyard spaces where sunshine and plants and flowers abound. Our home is of Spanish neoclassical architecture and is over 300 years old. We hope you will love it as much as we do!

Great place to stay in the centre of the old town, the historical grounds are well kept and beautiful. The breakfast is good quality and filling. Raul is kind, helpful and very friendly, for eg he saw the kids weren’t eating much at breakfast so the next day made them pancakes.

We stayed at this wonderful BnB four nights at the end of February, 2020. Raul and his wife Susanne are such kind, friendly people. Raul cooks breakfast, cleans rooms, looks after guests like family. This is a historic home with a beautiful courtyard. The first night we arrived after 9 pm, and my husband had not been feeling well even before our 10-hour bus trip to Morelia. Raul phoned a good restaurant 3 blocks away that had closed at 9 pm. and asked them to open and to make my husband some chicken broth soup, then walked with us to the restaurant. A couple of days later my husband became much sicker. Raul went to 4 pharmacies and even talked to a doctor at the hospital to get the best medicine for him. We could never thank Raul enough for his kindness. This BnB is very clean and quiet. Breakfast is included: toast and pastries, yogurt, granola, a big plate of assorted fresh fruits, freshly squeezed juice (orange, guava, or papaya), tea or coffee. Raul will cook eggs (including omelettes) at a very reasonable extra charge. He also makes delicious crepes in the afternoons, again reasonably priced. Casa Limoncelo is only about 10 minutes walk to the main cathedral and square of Morelia, and just a few minutes in the other direction to the aqueduct and Guadalope cathedral. Taxis are readily available on the street in front of Limoncelo, or Raul can call one for you. He also will help arrange tours. Grocery store and pharmacy are very close.…

We stayed for a week at this beautiful historic B & B. Raul our host served us each morning at 8 am a delicious breakfast consisting of a big plate of fresh fruit, juices, fresh pastrises, cereal, yoghurt and very good coffee.A cooked breakfast was offered to us at no extra charge. I had the Mexican Breakfast a few times as well as Cheese Omelette, I liked both very much. Raul is a very friendly and outgoing and we loved to talk to him. Always helpful and happy. He did all the cleaning as well and kept our room very clean with change of towels every day. Bed and pillows very comfortable. We enjoyed the courtyard in the evening to enjoy a glass of wine. The wifi worked very well here and were able to do some work on the computer. In the evening we had a few mosquitoes but with the help of a Raid disc for the pug-in, the problem was solved. Mercado San Juan, a very interesting market was nearby. A few blocks away was a lovely park to sit in the shade on benches watching entertainment on occasions. The Cathedral Park is an enjoyable 15 minute walk and a fun place to spend some time in the shade. We had a double room with private bath at the end of the Courtyard. Very quiet! The location was perfect with it's historic architecture, beautiful cathedral and many interesting restaurants to sample the local dishes. The little restaurant at the B & B where we ate our breakfast was a perfect place to watch people on the street. Thank you Raul for making our stay a very enjoyable one and definitely would stay at Limonchelo again when we decide to return to Morelia. Kind regards, Ivar & Gunda Morelia was the highlight of our five week trip through Mexico.…

I spent a week at Raul & Susanna's bed and breakfast. It truly is in the center of Historical Morelia. Unless we were on a tour, we walked everywhere. Breakfast each morning was delicious. Fresh fruits, juices, pastries, and coffee from Chiapas. If that wasn't enough, Raul would make breakfast of your choosing. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. The outdoor patios were so relaxing to come "home" to each day and enjoy our tapas and wine that we brought with us. The place is very quiet and peaceful. Their two sons are very nice and if you try, they will even practice their English with you and let you practice your Spanish with them. For our group, I worked solely with Raul and he was very responsive to all my questions in planning this trip. He helped me with planning our tours and also airport pickup and delivery from Mexico City airport. I highly recommend staying at Casa LIMONCHELO.…

What a find!! I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Morelia. The owner is fabulous. He had wonderful recommendations for everything. The breakfast was perfect for big breakfast eaters and those of us who aren’t. He served fresh juices, a fresh fruit plate, basket of pastries, yogurt, homemade granola, and offered egg dishes which we declined because the other things were plenty. The various courtyards were perfect for resting and reading after a day of exploring.

After 4 nights very close to Morelia main plaza we really enjoyed our 3 nights at Limonchelo. Nicer walking without the the crowds and we think, a little fresher air. Easy shopping and restaurants, coffee nearby and only a few blocks from Mercado San Juan, a big, traditional market. We love all the close parks and the short walk to the spectacular Guadalupe church. Our host and family was charming and helped in every way to make our visit perfect. Our room was great with a tiny bathroom included. Very nice beds, pillows and towels. The Casa is old, traditional and elegant around two courtyards.... but not modern. We loved it!

I really wanted to like this family-run hotel. The owners are very friendly and anxious to please, and the location really can't be beat. They'll also give you a better price for longer stays, which I appreciate. However, there are better accommodations available in Morelia for just a bit more than what they're charging here. I stayed in one of the 2 rooms available with private bath. And the bathroom was quite small. If you stay in one of the other rooms you have to go across the courtyard to reach the shared baths. The Wifi was fine, but the beds are pretty hard (which is not unusual in Mexico) and the breakfast and coffee just aren't very good. One can get a much better breakfast elsewhere for about 100 pesos. So for all of these reasons, I will not be returning.

The hotel is a converted family home located just a few blocks from the historic centro area. The hotel is great for the price. Our rooms were comfortable but very small with an even tinier bathroom. It was February so it was freezing and while there are covered areas in the inner courtyard to sit outside your rooms, it was so cold. wifi didn't reach the room and was spotty at best in the courtyard. The rooms included breakfast but its not much to write home about. Nescafe coffee, dried bread/toast served cold etc. Best part of the hotel beside the location and great price is the owner/host who was very charming and helpful and friendly.

Casa Limonchelo is in the heart of downtown Morelia walking distance from intereting churches, plazas and restaurants. Casa Limonchelo is very homie the architecture is beautiful need a little TLC and cleaniless but the owners are very friendly and attentive to all their guests. Their prices are very reasonable. Make sure to reserved with your continental breakfast is just a few dollars more but is very worth it. Also when making your reservation specified you want a room with private bathroom is a different price but better than sharing it with an stranger. All rooms have TV, cable and WiFi hot water.

Casa limoncello has been fabulous! Anyone can stay at Holiday inn, this is a local historical landmark, on the main street, leading to the central plaza. It is walki.g distance to everything you need to see downtown. Breakfast is amazing and the archtecture is fantastic. The family that runs the place, I have known for years. Full disclosure, I used to live here and visit every year. They are wonderful and deserve your business.
