I was here for 4 days, the kitchen was not hygenic, everyone had to clean their dishes some didnt so you would end up cleaning after them. The fridge was a disaster as you couldnt put anything in it, it was packed full with other peoples food. And didnt even know if it was there for ages. Another thing that... More

Stayed here for 3 days during travels around Mexico over NYE (last few days in Dec, first few in Jan). The location is great; at the end of the road is the strip of restaurants, bars and shops (some of which were ridiculously overpriced, but that's what you get in touristy areas anyway, so was expected. Adjacent to the strip... More

We stayed here on our second visit to Playa del Carmen. We were at the end of four months of travelling so were looking for somewhere cheap but close to the beach and safe. We stayed in a double room, we had our own balcony which we could have beers on in the evening and watch people go by. The... More

Fantastic location a block away from the beach and the proximity of the bus station are the selling points of this hostel. Bring earplugs or you won't sleep. Open bar for youth makes 'em chant 'Sex, sex, sex on the beach'. Of all the noises in the street, this hostel makes the loudest. At least the music is good. Service... More

Really hard to complain about the location. It's very close to the ferry, colectivo, and bus terminals, close to restaurants where locals frequent as well as right next to the tourist scene. You're also about 2-3 blocks from the beach. About 2 blocks away is also a very cheap drop-off lavanderia (10 MXN per kilo). We pretty much enjoyed our... More

For a little less than $15 a night, and located in the center of PDC's main tourist drag, I really can't complain. I stayed a couple nights in dorm #1. It was a cramped 6 bed mixed dorm with a tiny insuite bath (toilet+sink+shower). The shower floor was filthy. My feet were literally more dirty after I finished showering than... More

Rooms are nasty, no place you can put anything that isnt dirty. Floors and bathroom havent been cleaned for yeats. Someone even stole lightbulbs in the room. Sure you get good location but that means nightclubs banging and no sleep. worst hotel ever, STAY AWAY More

I stayed at Maria Sabinas for a week in Sept 2009. #1- Location. Literally "meters" from the Beach, 5 minute walk to the Main Bus Stop, 10 minute walk to the Night Clubs... and it's just off 5th Avenue aka "main shopping/restaurant district". Across the street is a 24 Hour Convenience Store- open all day& all night, PLUS a Bank... More

The Maria Sabina Hostel was an amazing value. 3 friends and I filled up one dorm, which came with AC, and TV, lockers, a balcony, and a bathroom ensuite. We were pleased with the room! The decor is neat, and the staff was kind and helpful. They allowed us to store our bags, although the storage area wasn't very secure.... More
