The hotel is on a very noisy street right next to the Cathedral. The windows don't have glass and have been blocked off with heavy modern doors. So the room is dark with traffic noise or light with deafening noise and heat. The bathroom was built in the corner with no ventilation and a horrible smell. The wifi was weak,... More

Everything was AMAZING. I was really impressed and pleased by stylish and clean room with beautiful view from balcony, central location, nice ambiance, friendly service and warm hospitality. Should I come to Merida again, definitely I would go to Piedra de Agua ONLY.

I stayed 3 nights at the Piedra de Aqua Hotel in the beginning of April. I had book with, I think Expedia, which was fine. No unforseen additional charges of any nature. Check-in was simple and quick which was great because I had a 4:00 p.m. appointment in the north end of the city so time was tight. My room... More

Stayed a couple of nights at this boutique hotel, in a King suite. Our room had a balcony that looked out over the street, which was great for people watching in the evenings. The positives: - Great ivy covered patio and pool area, with hammocks - Fantastic location, right off the main square - Helpful and friendly staff - Beautiful... More

This hotel is the kind we love..old with character. Our room had a window onto busy Calle 60 but was not too noisy as the great wooden windows on the outside were complemented by the glass doors on the inside thus cutting out much of the traffic noise. A short way up the street in a small square there was... More

Stayed couple of nights with the family. The hotel is a minute off the central square and is an excellent location for exploring Merida. The rooms are amazing and the hotel has a great historical atmosphere. There is a small pool in the back along with hammocks, which the kids loved. The outdoor restaurant and bar is awsome, but the... More

We turned up on spec straight off the overnight bus from San Cristobal and were given a friendly welcome and shown to our delightful room. There was no window but daylight came from the adjacent bathroom. The bed was very comfortable with lots of pillows and drapes. We enjoyed drinks in the verdant garden by the attractive pool and even... More

This may be a nice hotel, but we did not get to stay there. In early December we made, and had CONFIRMED, reservations for 2 rooms for 3 nights beginning February 8 through booking.com. As requested, we supplied our credit card. In late January, we received a note from Piedra reservations saying they had switched booking agencies, and in fact,... More

When we arrived we were faced with a maajor foul-up by our tour operator which delivered us to the wrong hotel and the agency changed schedules without linking to the other plans. The concierge, Victor Suarez, took over the problem and got the problem sorted out so that our visit ran smoothly. He not only dealt with the various tour... More

I stayed at the Piedra de Agua Feb 23 to March 1, 2013. My overall experience was a positive one. The location of the hotel is excellent, you are in the middle of all historical buildings, the main plaza and lots of shops and restaurants. The street (Calle 60) closes in the evenings on Thursdays to Sunday to all cars... More
