Many elegant places in the world hide their beauty from outsiders, charming from within. Casa Lacanda is in that tradition. And make no mistake, you will be charmed. It is already becoming known among sophisticated travelers as a top-tier luxury boutique hotel. And deservedly. When you step off a New-Orleans -French -Quarter-looking street--Calle 47--and through the door of Casa Lacanda,... More

I ventured to Merida on my own without a hotel reservation. Since I had never been to the city before I didn't want to be locked into a hotel that was less than perfect. And behind a magic door was Casa Lecanda! Small, charming and beautiful with a most gracious team headed up by owner Stefano Marcelletti Mendez. I am... More

Our family of 4 recently stayed for 2 nights at this blissful hotel in Merida. From the moment we arrived, having punctured our wheel right outside the door, the delightful owner took us all in hand, arranged for the car to be mended and parked, upgraded our beautiful rooms and we all just collapsed at such a blissful beautiful place.... There are really no words to fully describe what a joy our stay was at Casa Lecanda. From the stunningly renovated colonial mansion's wonderful décor, striking courtyards, pool and sitting areas to the utterly professional, friendly and personal warmth of the staff, we can honestly say this is definitely one of the top 2 or 3 hotels we have stayed... First of all, despite my 1 star rating, this is NOT a 1 star hotel. That said, I don't think it's as charming as other reviewers have stated -- in the first place, it's more of a B&B than a hotel, I found it cramped, with a very small pool. For a taste of old-style Mexico close to the centre... More

One of the best experiences this world traveler has ever had. Longing to return. Impeccable service, upscale accomadations, boutique luxury all the way. The only negative is that you will expect other establishments to rise to this level only to witness them falling short. Merida captured my imagination Cada Lecanda stole my heart. A true gem.

Casa Lecanda is a charming hotel with a relaxing environment (including great hammocks in the shade), excellent staff and hosts. They have a wonderful bar and public places to sit. The owners are interesting people and generously give outstanding advice about places to visit and eat. The rooms are very comfortable with super quiet air conditioners and fans, and are... More

We visited Merida in February and were smart to follow the tripadviser reviews and book a room at Casa Lecanda for five days. This small hotel is fabulous, and although I hate to sound repetitive of other reviewers, it is truly an oasis in the middle of Merida. The young owner Stefano definitely has it together. The hotel is designed... More

Stayed in room La Gloria...it was Glorious!!!! The hotel was way above our expectations. I had read reviews on trip advisor, so we knew it would be good. Great, more that describes the place.
