I chose aventura based on its proximity to the bus station as i planned to stay in merida for only a night. The amenities for the price of $16, as of this review (low season), were unmatched - safe, clean individual bedrooms, wifi, tv and ac. It delivered precisely. Of course if the traveller is looking for a true downtown... More

This is an ideal budget hotel with a great staff and manager. Yes, it is no frills but you should know that after your research for a hotel. I stayed for about 5-6 days the first week of June 2011 and for 2 days in July 2011. Laundry service is available in hotel (just ask housekeeper; 30+pesos depending on size),... More

The hotel was characterless with nothing else other than a reception room and the hotel rooms based along a long outdoor corridor. The staff were very loud inviting friends in until the early hours of the morning and the TVs in various rooms were also too loud to the point where I had to go out and ask for them... More

We visited Merida mid-July 2009. We stayed at the Aventura for 5 days. Room 9 was spacious, quite basic with a small bathroom. We had daily maid service that always left our room immaculately clean, with fresh, snow-white towels daily. The air-conditioner is dated, but it did its job (took a little while to cool-off the room, but still it... More

This place is one of the wrost hotels that I 've been in my life. We had a wedding in Merida and our budget was low. I check the website and the pictures and look cozy and clean. That's all that we needed. ok...the place does not look anything like the pictures..I dont know how they did it..There is no... More

The Aventura is certainly extremely cheap and very charming, with lots of nice touches and a really great website. Unfortunately my partner and I decided not to stay upon arrival for several reasons. We had packed up all of our worldly possessions to move to Canada and after a month of traveling we had many photographs and other items we... More

At 200 pesos ($15) a bargain, no more than at hostels with private room and bath. Very clean and safe. limited natural ventillation, small windows, ceiling fan helps a lot but in April still a bit stuffy. Good location walk to downtown or to Dentist Jesus Sanchez (used by americans living there) Website .

NO Frills, but can't beat the value... don't spend too much time in Merida but for your one day stay here I can't think of a better place then Aventura. Clean rooms, absolutely no frills.

I recently traveled to Merida and was in search of a bargain, but didn't want to suffer. I found this hotel and was very pleased to find all the necessities at an affordable price. Clean sheets and bathrooms, along with hot water in the private bath made my stay in Merida that much more pleasant. Easy to find because of... More
