pent 5 nights at this hotel and everything was wonderful! The food was amazing, (a full breakfast is included in the room price) the waiters were super helpful and sweet. Music in the evenings, an amazing rooftop with food service and a spectacular view. There was noise form a neighboring disco, but not so loud that with earplugs you can... More

Stayed at the Posada Real for three nights in early February. This is a smallish conversion of a colonial mansion with rooms scattered around a delightful courtyard and in a number of other unusual spaces off the main public areas. We only ate breakfast here and it was quite pleasant. Rooms were simple but comfortable although I scored a delightful... More

I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. I found all the staff to be really friendly and helpful. It does help if you can speak Spanish. My room and bathroom were kept really clean. I had a room that had French doors opening onto a lovely patio and garden area with comfortable seating. The room was a little cold... More

This is not a cookie-cutter hotel. Being converted from a residence into a hotel, it retains the colonial charm that adds to its unique atmosphere. We liked the location, only 1 1/2 blocks from the zocalo. Of particular interest is the emphasis on the various weaving styles found throughout Chiapas. Each room is highlighted with a different style from around... More

The rooms are ok, bathroom beyond par, and most important the service in their restaurant and the food is absolutely horrid, avoid at all costs. More

The historical home converted into a boutique hotel is very comfortable, with friendly staff, nicely decorated rooms, and centrally located. It is unpretentious and decorated in traditional style with many hand made textiles on walls and in the rooms. The only challenge is the lack of elevator. More

Rooms spacious but dated and ours was part of a huge inner courtyard - overlooking the dining area. A bit odd, and piped music which was too loud but not offensive all day and night which can be heard in the room. The piano bar lovely. Good location. Nothing spectacular, but good value overall. Had 2 days here, and overall enjoyed the experience. The building is a lovely colonial building with nooks and crannies, courtyards and fountains. Our room was large with 2 queen beds, good shower-room and decorated with lovely local fabrics and simple furniture. Unfortunately it opened directly onto the pavement of a busy road, so we didn't sleep well. Sadly the... More

Although we had already booked another hotel, we walked by Posada Real and took a look around. There was a peaceful patio off to the side of the main dining area with a fountain and some comfortable chairs, so we decided to have lunch there. Service was top-notch: waiters brought a better dining table out to the patio for us,... More

We stayed in the Posada Real for two nights when we arrived in Chiapas, then returned again for four nights after a trip to Palenque and other sights. The hotel is friendly, charming, efficient, and well located. The maid service was excellent and taken care of while we were out sightseeing. The maids did forget to give us bottled water... More
