Yes, the rooms can be cold, but we just got a room with a chimney, enjoyed the open fire and then went to sleep under some extra layers of blankets. The hotel is very very pretty with an amazing garden filled with clementine trees and cala lilies. The restaurant is wonderful, the staff sooooo sweet and attentive (if you don't... More

I would reccomend that people do not stay here. Rooms are very cold, the staff is unfriendly, it seems they don't want you to stay there, no hot water! you have to wait about an hour and you only get warm almost cold water. They also offer shuttle service to the butterflies sanctuary for a high price compared to others... More

We stayed here in Jan 2012. Similar to the other reviews I would reccomend that people do not stay here, We had no hot water, when I say no hot water nothing came out of the tap. the rooms smelt fusty and there was mould on the walls. The room had clearly not been cleaned to any standard for a... More

We arrived to find that the rooms were OK - slightly better than expected. The restuarant was closed and we were advised that ther were some places in the main square - supposedly a 5 minute walk - that would be open until 8pm. It took 20 minutes and nothing was open. Back to the Don Bruno where they made... More

Although the hotel itself is very nice it is also super expensive. We were the only guests for two nights, the kitchen remained closed, no coffee or service whatsoever. We tried to pay our bill and waited for 30 minutes while the lady clerk talked on the phone not even giving us eye contact or a simple "be right with... More

After reading these reviews, I was quite hesitant about my stay here, but found this hotel to be very accommodating and very charming. The views are fantastic. The food is delicious. The people were very friendly and helpful. Our stay was just after a horrible flood that destroyed most of the town, but you would never have known that staying... More

Hotel Bruno was much more expensive than the much nicer hotels we stayed in on other parts of our trip. They charged for breakfast, and although they assured us that they were equipped for credit cards, we had a really hard time paying. It was very cold so we were glad we had a fire place. The water was cold... More

We stayed at the Don Bruno in Feb. Our only purpose for staying at this hotel was to have a close base to see the butterflies. I booked a room with a fireplace for around $80. When we arrive at the hotel they showed us to our room that was barely larger than a closet, had a very small window... More

Reading reviews on-line led me to believe Don Bruno was the place to stay; don't believe the hype. Yes, it's beautiful, yes it's clean; however a sullen, unfriendly staff, a refusal to give us a room with heat (unless we paid the equivalent of over 100 dollars despite being quoted via telephone another price with heat or a fireplace) was... Hotel Don Bruno is a good place to stay if you are going to one of the various butterflies sanctuaries. BE aware. The rooms are not heated and can be quite cold at night. Some of the rooms have fireplaces that can be lit at night but the temperature really drops. Great hot showers. The beds are a bit hard. Great... More
