Greeted with tequilla and shown to our room "erotica" we had to fight our way through what has to be the best collection of random goodies on the globe! This hotel is basically mad as a box of frogs and we quite frankly loved our time here! 2 min walk to the beach, comfy beds and good wifi. The communal... More

This is the most unique hotel if ever seen. I have never seen this mich stuff together. The coutyard is completely cluttered and every room has some unique items and/or wallpaintings. It's an old place with old stuff. No modern comforts, but lots of fun! The free shot of tequilla uppon arrival will make you sleep great anyway!! Never seen... More

We stumbled upon this hotel while looking for the hostel and had seen reviews on internet so after a quick walk through to see the rooms we decided to stay. Free shots of tequila, internet, breakfast and hot water were advertised as selling points...plenty of tequila was given out nightly at happy hour but breakfast was cookies and coffee and... More

We are a couple in our late 20s, early 30s and we used to do a bit of backpacking. I think we were both sad to realise that those days are over and we now prefer a bit more comfort. For this reason I don't think we'd come back to Yeneka. It would have been a great place about 8... More

Great find! Although it is budget accommodation, the service recived and welcome, were first class. This is a facinating hotel which resembles a cross between an art gallery and antiques shop. It is family run of which we were made to feel part. I particually like the two courtesy tequillas each on an evening. This is an inspiring place, which... More

As others have mentioned the Yeneka is not for everyone, but if you've got a sense of humor and are young in spirit you'll enjoy the place. It's got enough ambience and atmosphere for several hotels. The courtyard is a great gathering spot to meet other travelers. We stayed here for the better part of a week on an extended... More

We spend 3 nights at this hotel in Nov 2012. Costs was $15 CAD each night for 3 of us sharing (cheap) and breakfast (cereal, coffee, juice) was provided too! I would stay here again if doing another budget holiday. There were other travelers who we chatted with in the common area so it was fun. The shower was always... More

This hotel is full of junk, which is amusing at first. There's even a dead monkey driving an old car. The owner calls it "art", but that's getting a bit pretentious. I felt like one of the junk-yard cats from the musical "Cats". It has free Wi-Fi and the managers are friendly and decent. They're supposed to provide free breakfast,... More

Great hotel, great location, with a great staff for a traveler on a budget. The lobby area is outdoors and is filled with the eccentric art of the owners which makes for a great ambiance. Cold beers for sale but minimal kitchen amenities. Stayed here for 4 nights would definitely stay here again!

Totally worth giving it a try. Yeneka is in a great location...huge grocery store witin a 5 minute walk, tons of shops and the "beach" is just two blocks away. Each room has its own personality. Room doors width is wheelchair accessible but the bathrooms are not. With a little assistance you can get over the less than one inch... More
