I would not recommend or book this B & B again - after pre paying and ringing the owner to confirm our room booking on the morning of travel we were told check in times had been changed as the owner had to go out. We could not make new check in times so we were forced to find alternative accommodation whilst en route on our 200 mile journey. B& B owner refused to offer any reasonable alternative arrangements or to give us a refund of the money already paid. After several refund requests made via the booking company and several received rejections, we had an offer of a £20 voucher to recompense our £70.00 paid for a room which we declined and two months of e mails and phone calls later, we eventually managed to receive a full refund after a very good follow up service from PayPal.

Thank you for taking time to write a review. Check in time until 10:00 pm but not at all fixed. Later time can arrange by telephone or email. We do not understand you stating about us arranging new accommodation, as there was a room in place for you. We rang at 8:30 and again at 9:30 pm of your whereabouts. There was no reply. No one contacted us that the booking cancelled.

My wife and I enjoyed a short two night stay in Nora's B&B, right from our warm arrival we knew we had found our perfect base to explore this beautiful area. Although our Matrimonial room was not on-suite it was comfortable and quiet, full tea/coffee making and some nice touches made it feel homely. Nora our host was so helpful in advice on what to see and a wealth of local news, she made our time even better. Breakfast is plenty and varied setting us up for the day. If you are looking for hotel luxury this is not the place for you, if you want a warm farmhouse experience in comfort this most certainly is the ideal place.

This was our first ever trip to Scotland and it certainly didn't disappoint, when we found the Farhills Farm Bed and Breakfast we were delighted with the beautiful views and lovely farmhouse, when we arrived we were warmly greeted by the host, Nora, who made us feel very welcome and was most helpful. The room was comfortable with refreshments of tea and coffee and we enjoyed a good nights sleep. In the mornings we were blessed with the sight of beautiful cows in the fields nearby. If you enjoy nature and peace and quiet this is the place for you. The breakfast was lovely and set us up for the day. I hope we have the opportunity to one day visit this lovely place again, thank you Nora xx

Extreamly welcoming place, that is well presented and very clean. We had the room with the en-suite - it's a good sized room, with plenty of space for two. Nice views of surrounding countryside, farm animals and wildlife (we spotted a deer running along the road during our visit). The price includes a delicious freshly cooked breakfast which was great. I would not hesitate to stay here again the next time we are in the area, and would be happy to recommend this B&B to anyone.

A smart farmhouse in beautiful countryside. Welcoming, clean, tidy and attractive. Host Norah very friendly and helpful. Excellent full Scottish breakfast! The farm itself looks very well run and it was great to see such healthy looking livestock! It doesn't intrude on the guest facilities or vice-versa. No problem from my point of view but travellers should be aware that there are few local facilities. The local pub The Smugglers is closed down and the nearest (very) small shop is in Palnackie. Excellent facilities do exist, of course, in Dalbeattie and Kirkcudbright.

Nora is lovely and makes you feel very welcome.. Farhills is set in rolling countryside so is very quiet. The room was very nice with tea and biscuits plus TV, everything was very clean and fresh, breakfast also was spot on. It is very good value for money Will definitely use again.

Comfortable en-suite room with lovely view; very clean and tidy with tea/coffee making facility. Substantial cooked breakfasts freshly made to order - no need for lunch! Very welcoming and helpful hostess. Attractive location near the coast with walks nearby. The working-farm situation is not at all intrusive and the approaches to the house are beautifully presented.

I stayed here for three nights with my family and friends whilst attending my daughters wedding in the local village. The B+ B is run by a lovely kind lady who couldn`t do enough for us. The breakfasts would last us all day. All the rooms were spotless and clean with everything that you needed, and the beds were so cumfy. A great location with beautiful views. I would be more than happy to stay here again and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. Five stars *****

Farhills is a working farm, however apart from the obvious farm layout once inside the atmosphere is one on complete relaxation. our room was comfortable and well maintained, large and spacious. The host, Nora was very welcoming and settled us in quickly and helped make our stay delightful. Breakfast was well presented and cooked to order, with plenty of choice and portions were great, it set us up well for the day ahead.

A warm, homely farmhouse to rest your head after a hard days work/walking in Auchencairn. I particularly liked the electric blankets which was a real treat after being out in the Scottish elements all day. Nora, the owner, was very conscientious and accommodating, even when we requested a full English breakfast at 6am! The rooms were clean and fully stocked with tea and biscuits and though not all of them come complete with at TV and on-suite they are very comfortable and complimentary to the beautiful surroundings. I particularly enjoyed listening to the owls hooting in the nearby woodland. Would recommend for a cost effective and very pleasant stay.
